honestly I wasn't expecting much but this turned out to be a true story, was initially just reading it as a place holder until the second Lord of mysteries book came out but this is truly a well done story and I'm glad to have read it and be taken along for the ride.

The novel is amazing I'd say that it has more ups than any of the other previous author works. It has a premise and sticks with it. At first I was avoiding reading it because of some of the harsher comments about mc but it quickly becomes apparent when you read that they are full of bs (mc is great). Side cast is enjoyable and unique moreover whole cast gets a lot of screentime towards themselves which manifests a lot of progression to their characters. 10/10[img=recommend]

Just wow, what a fantastic read. The story and plot are original, compelling, well-developed, and very evenly-paced. At no point does the author add unnecessary filler, while at the same time describing the characters and scenery vividly. And honestly if I didn't go in already knowing it was a translated novel, I would have never guessed it wasn't penned in English. Both the author and translator did incredibly fine jobs on this book, and I would heartily recommend it to anyone. The characters themselves are interesting, human, and relatable in a wide variety of ways, with each having a charm and quirks of their own. Character development is present, logical, and done subtly over the course of the entire novel. You very quickly build a sense of empathy with the four MCs throughout the course of the book (or five if you count non-carbon-based life forms, haha). The author manages a fantastic balance, making the characters both believable and entertaining, while at the same time embodying some of the best traits humanity strives for. The plot is well-developed, robust, and sinks it's fingers into your imagination as the mysteries behind the main storyline slowly are revealed and answered in a gratifyingly-paced way that feels natural and never forced. By the climax, all of the questions have been answered in creative (yet logical) ways, and never does the author resort to leaning on the plot armor or Deus ex machina so often found in these novels. The villains are also three-dimensional, and swerve the crutch of relying on pure evil as antagonists, as you can understand and feel for the motivations behind even the most disposable baddies, even while you loath their self-serving actions. I really love the humor in this, it's a great balance between being endearing, silly, and sprinkled in all of the right places without going overboard. Another fantastic aspect is that, unlike many of these novels, you never once get the impression that the author felt rushed or got sick of writing the book towards the closing chapters; the final chapter is just as wonderful as the first. This is the first book that I've read by this author and translator, and you can be sure I'm going to immediately dig into anything else I can find of theirs. I'm very grateful for their work, and am so glad I picked it up due to something as minor as enjoying the novelty of the title. I hope you enjoy reading it just as much as I did!

This is a masterpiece at it's own right! The world building was done properly and I can't help but love all the character. The pacing is just right and I love how we slowly understand the world and the mysteries revolving it as we read further. If there's sequel for this book I will definitely read it. Anyway despite all that I must say that I have a bit difficulty to get into the book at the start. But when things started become clearer I find myself immerse in this little world and can't wait to read more. I am a bit disappointed thought that some character the author introduce is not properly use and I also hope for more complete ending than what have been given. Nevertheless I really enjoy this book and hope that you will share the same sentiments. 😉

I’ll admit that this one starts off a bit slow, but once it gets rolling it just keeps on delivering nonstop. With fantastic world building and a charming cast, this is an easy recommend for me.

Well I have binge read the whole book and I have to say it was dissapointing. Mc gains a lot of strange abilities but most of them were not even used, for example - matter interference - how many times did he even utilise it? The fights are strange and the end outcome relies on firearms. He became kalendaria only to die the next chapter. I thought the book would be as interesting as 'Lord of the mysteries' so i read till the end only to be dissapointed.

this story very good as expected of Cuttlefish That Loves Diving but not as near awesome as Lord of the Mysteries or Martial Arts Master or Throne of Magical Arcana because it lacks the romance, in his other novels i have to say I'm a little bias toward this because martial arts master was my first cuttlefish novel and it really hooked me since then but cuttlefish seems with each novel to write a little romance as possible don't know why he lacks the romance in his other novels even though he writes a very good romance part and the ending is rather lacking in this one hope we have a sequel or mc team shows in LOTM 2 because there is many stuff that didn't explain in the end and that isn't the norm of Cuttlefish the ending is rather rushed and that's not what cuttlefish normally do which leaves me in suspense if the heroes will show in a sequel in the future or not, overall a very good novel of cuttlefish but loses to his other novels by 1 star but still way better than many trash novels out there

It exudes the feeling of 'The first order' + 'Lord of the mysteries'.

This is actually my second time reading this book, I left it earlier but don’t remember where I left off and so had to start over. But I must say, it’s still as interesting as I first read it. I highly recommend this book

The autor is just brillant! Before you begin reading, consider that it has a (very) slow start. But the finale is therefore even better!

This is one of the best stories out here but I didn't finished it. I accidentally read a review which spoiled me the ending. it's not the reviewers fault because he tagged it as spoiler but I led my intrusive thoughts win leading to this disaster. But people who is still contemplating. Just stop thinking and start reading. This is a world created by Cuttlefish!!

Another masterpiece by Cuttlefish. It is a harder read than LOTM. I think the major reason some might find it more difficult to get through are that there are a lot of long discussions in the story. The FL is highly intelligent and has long, detailed discussions with her teammates. They have lengthy brainstorming sessions and provide detailed rationale behind each thought. Once in a while, I would find my eyes glazing over and that I was tuning out, similar to when my SO will discuss, in-depth, his computer coding issues. Yeah. So if you are of Vulcan bloodline or enjoy reading technical books for fun, then you'll thoroughly enjoy these conversations in the story. That being said, each discussion is relevant and cohesive with the storyline. It isn't worthless filler. Cuttlefish weaves an intelligent, thoughtful, funny, heart-rending masterpiece. The author provides action, amazing world building, and memorable characters. Bravo! Clap 👏, clap 👏, clap 👏!

Another awesome book from Cuttlefish. I just don't know why more people aren't reading it. The characters are really good and don't think that just because there are multiple MCs, its not gonna be good. There are two main MCs and two sidekicks in the story btw but its done really well and there are not many changing POVs either, so it feels the same as any other novel. In short, if I gave Lord of the Mysteries a 9/10, I'll definitely give this one an 8/10 and hope author writes a sequel to this one after he finishes LOTM 2 ofc. TLDR; Just Read It.

Really good story as expected from Cuttlefish. Starts slow and doesn't have as much action like Lord of Mysteries, but really good at the Mystery and Investigation aspect. For those saying that the story is bad because there are multiple MCs, ignore them cause they definitely haven't read past the first 50 chaps. The story is even better this way and suits the world much more because this isn't Xianxia world with super OP MC. TLDR; A must read

Excellent. I saw some complaints here but I actually preferred the ending. The theme of mental illness was wonderful; often I was laughing aloud while reading. The characters were believable and I never felt the interactions to be cliche as sometimes happens when following a group's progress. The world was rich and the history deep, even more so than his previous works. Very much enjoyed this novel and recommend it fully.

For all humanity!!! One of the few books that builds a bridge between the reader and the characters. Just as Lord of Mysteries, it has it’s fair share of cryptic scenes and enigm characters. And my favorite part are the quotes. I wonder where or how cuttlefish came about them.🤔
