The MC behavior is spoiling a very good novel. one minute he's saying 'he's not a good person but doesn't forget those who help him' and the next 'he feels cursed for possessing a person'

I am way too confused, you have to explain his ability's better. Secon can you make his status page better? Or just show it when something change, not just his cultivation. Atm I am really confused what is going on, is he now a bandit forever? What happend with his main body? If he is a bandit now why didn't he rob them, it could have helped him, etc etc you need to explain your stuff so that we are able to understand it
