Chapter 45: Pyromancer Joins the Party

"So, I just channel my magic into the orb?" Joshua asked.

"That's right." The mage told him.

Joshua looked at the orb in his hand and nothing was happening. "So, question." He said. "How exactly do I channel my magic into the orb?"

"How could you not know that?" She asked, slightly annoyed. "Just feel your energy flowing into the orb, imagine it leaving your body and into the orb. That is really all there is to it.

Magic is mostly using your mind to create changes in the universe. A lot of mages use chants to create a spell as it focuses the mind on the task at hand. However, you can also cast a spell without a chant. As long as you remember its form and its feeling."

"So that's how Tilly was able to cast shields earlier without using a chant." Joshua said.

"Why did you need shields?" She replied.
