Chapter 44: A cute intruder

"To sleep with you, of course."

Evelyn's heart skipped a beat, the words echoing in her mind like a broken record. She looked up at Zevian, his expression so serious that it made her cheeks burn even hotter. Was he teasing her? But the way he looked down at her, those intense eyes locked on hers, said he was dead serious.

"I-I don't want to sleep with you!" Evelyn grumbled, desperately trying to keep her emotions in check, even though her heart was racing.

"But I do," Zevian's response came so quickly that she didn't have time to process it, let alone respond. Oh, how she regretted making that silly wish last night, now realizing it was probably the reason behind his bold behavior.

Before she knew it, they were standing in front of his room. Zevian pushed the door open with his foot and walked inside, the soft click of the door locking behind them sending her heart into a marathon again.
