This just might be a hollywood movie lol...

now this is stupid. They just figured out how to keep the plants away. Why not stay there and harvest some crystal power and find a way to use it to power their ship? Also, why don't they find a way to use/communicate with the plant so that they can use it later on other planets on a smaller scale so that they never have to worry about metal and power again because it can harvest it all for them.
