Okay, so I just wanted to leave a review to vent some frustrations I had with this story even though chances are nobody is gonna read this.
At the start the story is good, like really good. Better than 90% of other comparable novels. The main character is naturally funny, he’s progressing in a good way, side characters support him well, everything is great. Then the story changes into a war like setting. I figure it’s just going to be this arc, but it continues for awhile and I’m getting sick of it, then it’s over and we get a new arc.
The new arc has a similar vibe to the start of the story and we meet some new characters, he gets some students, everything is relaxed again until even more new characters are introduced and bu that point we have all these characters and some of them appeared a bit too abruptly and they’re now a major plot point of the story all of a sudden. I read the whole thing, but some characters still don’t make sense to me.
Once that arc is done, we change to a really long war arc, and the point of views change all the time. I’d say we’re lucky to see the main character one in every ten chapters at this point. It’s all over the place. The characters that were introduced from the previous arc are now either a major part of the story, or are forgotten about (I think his students were mentioned twice in passing even though they’re supposedly close to the MC).
The ending leaves way too many questions left unanswered and way too many problems up in the air. The author abruptly ended the story in the middle of a chapter that doesn’t cover anything. A side character just remarka that everything is peaceful nowadays but has a feeling that something is gonna happen and that’s it. Main villans are still on the loose, MC has his status unknown, main support was about to make a breakthrough but we don’t know what happened with him, we don’t see the love interest again, love interest’s father doesn’t appear again and he supposedly captured a prisoner that was a major plot point to the story. We don’t find out who the old prisoner is, we don’t figure out the mysteries of the old territory and wilderness. MC’s senior has an apparent engagement she doesn’t want, but it’s mentioned once and that’s it and her real love interest doesn’t bother with her.
Instead of filling up 3 quarters of the story with war scenes, it would have been better if we saw MC and got answers as to what exactly is going on. Especially when the war scenes were mostly filler.
This is Tynan, I am an editor from another platform that focuses on adventurous Genre Fictions. After reading your “The Avalon Of Five Elements”, I decided to contact you and if possible, to extend you an invitation on distributing your works. However, there are so little I can talk about it here. If you were interested, please contact me via firstname.lastname@example.org, then I should take opportunity to discuss it with you in detail.
It was a great pleasure to meet your story.
This is my first book on this app and it opened doors for other books to be read by me, Yusuf is how powerful this book is. It is so captivating. The storyline is powerful, the character is so energetic and sweet, the story buildup is wonderfully great. So much i can say about this book but words cannot really define my love for it. Thanks to the author for writing this book and to the translators for their time translating the book.
Overall a really well-written novel. My only disappointment is that the sword embryo exploded and didn’t develop into something more. I really thought the embryo would lead him to dabbling in the path of sword cultivation
This is one of the best novels on the site. The translation is excellent. The characters are interesting and every one of them add to the story. It can be considered a slow paced novel but it makes up for it in quality. Do yourself a favor and give it 30 chapters.
You know what. I spent a whole week reading this book, expecting an exciting ending. The entire reason we, or at least I, read a book is for the awesome ending. I so did not like the ending here. I saw Ai Hui turning into a beast, is he going to turn back human? what about him and Shi Xueman? And he never met Shi Beihai? Rather than read this, I should have went and re-read The Desolate Era for the ump****th time. I never get tired of re-reading that. Rather than give such an ending, I would prefer the author to say that he's discontinuing this book. At least that way people won't be wasting their time on this. Thanks for listening to an angry reader's opinion.
WTF!?!! IT WAS GOOD IN THE BEGINNING, THEN THE MC IN THE END IS EITHER UNCONSCIOUS, POSSESSED OR WATCHING BY THE SIDELINE.. MIGTH AS WELL MAKE SA SWORD EMBRYO THE MC SINCE IT THE ONE DOING ALL THE WORK FROM BEGINNING TILL THE END... DISAPPOINTED...
Every aspect of this book makes the imagination live from the story's very beginning to the end and even after the end it keeps the flow of creativity from the author to the reader. There just has to be a continuation of this novel. Book 2:Rebirth!
This is a great story. The mc keeps evolving and changing as the circumstances around keep getting stranger and more difficult. Truly a great blend of adventure, action, comedy, and some romance and tragedy. Because of this story I have gone and sought the authors previous work within this world and am enjoying that one as well.
This webnovel was really good until the story was abruptly terminated by the author due to him getting sick. What could have been a gem of novel ended up being a tragic read. Readers beware, this webnovel ended prematurely and will leave you frustrated over being invested in it and not getting any closure at all.
A great book with interesting characters and unique power up system. Very deep in places. Unfortunately the author abandoned it and made a rushed ending in one chapter… that made no sense. Lots of potential lost here.
What nonsense is going on in whole book
Mc is always sick in whole book except for few chaps
Main fights are seen by sidelines by Mc
Other 20 stories are going on all the time so that they go back to Mc it is very difficult to relate
Till end this is going on
No screen time for Mc
Worsest book i have ever started
The characters are incredibly flat and very 1 dimensional I read much more than i should have and I knew more about his fatty friends personality and appearance than the MC's It was really a bit shallow unfortunately
I really like this novel. It has a completely different cultivation system with a unique world that you rarely see in other novels. However, one thing that was annoying for me was the breakthroughs. MC is a swordsman and throughout the novel he has multiple breakthroughs in his swordsmanship which, to me, doesn't really seem to do anything since there isn't really anything to measure them by and are simply confusing. Also, the ending was terrible as it kind of ended abruptly without a proper conclusion. I'm pretty sure something happened to the author so he decided to stop writing it in the middle of the story but still gave it an ending, albeit a bad one. If you don't like terrible endings, I reccomend easing out of it before the final arc so you're not met with any cliffhangers.
What a sh**ty story ending.. It's like when you got a nice sweet passionate foreplay, follow up with slow loving pumping in and out, but when it's juuusst about the load to be out, her parents come back home. The END..
Fffhh.. give me some bottle.. let's drunk..!
