the novel is really good. interesting system, characters, world, everything. I was so excited reading this. sadly author decided to end it in a very special way because of real life problems. he doesn't like the ending himself and he is sorry, so I advice you to drop around ~600

Okay, so I just wanted to leave a review to vent some frustrations I had with this story even though chances are nobody is gonna read this. At the start the story is good, like really good. Better than 90% of other comparable novels. The main character is naturally funny, he’s progressing in a good way, side characters support him well, everything is great. Then the story changes into a war like setting. I figure it’s just going to be this arc, but it continues for awhile and I’m getting sick of it, then it’s over and we get a new arc. The new arc has a similar vibe to the start of the story and we meet some new characters, he gets some students, everything is relaxed again until even more new characters are introduced and bu that point we have all these characters and some of them appeared a bit too abruptly and they’re now a major plot point of the story all of a sudden. I read the whole thing, but some characters still don’t make sense to me. Once that arc is done, we change to a really long war arc, and the point of views change all the time. I’d say we’re lucky to see the main character one in every ten chapters at this point. It’s all over the place. The characters that were introduced from the previous arc are now either a major part of the story, or are forgotten about (I think his students were mentioned twice in passing even though they’re supposedly close to the MC). The ending leaves way too many questions left unanswered and way too many problems up in the air. The author abruptly ended the story in the middle of a chapter that doesn’t cover anything. A side character just remarka that everything is peaceful nowadays but has a feeling that something is gonna happen and that’s it. Main villans are still on the loose, MC has his status unknown, main support was about to make a breakthrough but we don’t know what happened with him, we don’t see the love interest again, love interest’s father doesn’t appear again and he supposedly captured a prisoner that was a major plot point to the story. We don’t find out who the old prisoner is, we don’t figure out the mysteries of the old territory and wilderness. MC’s senior has an apparent engagement she doesn’t want, but it’s mentioned once and that’s it and her real love interest doesn’t bother with her. Instead of filling up 3 quarters of the story with war scenes, it would have been better if we saw MC and got answers as to what exactly is going on. Especially when the war scenes were mostly filler.

Overall a really well-written novel. My only disappointment is that the sword embryo exploded and didn’t develop into something more. I really thought the embryo would lead him to dabbling in the path of sword cultivation

You know what. I spent a whole week reading this book, expecting an exciting ending. The entire reason we, or at least I, read a book is for the awesome ending. I so did not like the ending here. I saw Ai Hui turning into a beast, is he going to turn back human? what about him and Shi Xueman? And he never met Shi Beihai? Rather than read this, I should have went and re-read The Desolate Era for the ump****th time. I never get tired of re-reading that. Rather than give such an ending, I would prefer the author to say that he's discontinuing this book. At least that way people won't be wasting their time on this.
