pending. still reading. other than the fact that you basically can't pass down knowledge and medium and large sects are basically non-existent I have no gripes

It's a good novel. There's no needless and endless face slapping 👍 no youg masters 👍 mc doesn't have twisted values (he's a good guy, that's actually good lol) 👍 it's rather short with 800 chapters, which makes it interesting 👍 The story is good for a cultivation novel, don't expect it to blow amaze you. if you have read desolate era, it's similar, like really similar, it just ends way earlier 🤔 so yeah if you like this book read desolate era it's better 😂

Story ended decently; but it could’ve gone longer. Sadly the author stopped writing after he was top of the 3 realms, and didn’t do further.

Overall a pretty decent book. It started off pretty strong with a well rounded rounded character. And then I got kind of boring in the middle. Kind of repetitive, Some cliche's another things that kind of brought the story down. But at least it ended decent which is more than a lot of books can say on this site

its a great book,full of twists that will definitely move your heart.all the various beast described are alls quite interesting too.think the different dharmic powers and daos was fun

The mc is a sword cultivator. Sword cultivators are powerful but they have a limit that only one group has found a way to surpass, but our mc being born in another's domain can follow that path. The mc must find his own path past the limits of sword cultivation while protecting what he cares about. The mc starts by wanting revenge but being to weak, then having evil everywhere terrified of him.

I enjoyed this book a lot, it kept me sucked into it and had plenty of twists. IET did a wonderful job building the world and creating a story which takes you on an adventure through many parts

I do really love this novel and recommend it to others, I'm unsure on how to describe it others will just have to try it. I don't enjoy talking so I'll have to cut my recommendation short.

I love this novel. I've read others I was so disappointed with how it was written even though the story was good, I really couldn't stand reading it though I had to finish the story nonetheless though I wasn't happy. But this novel is so well written by I Eat Tomatoes so I highly recommend this to everyone that truly enjoys being immersed in a beautiful well made world. Well done IET!

Well this is my first IET novel...I'll be frank I couldn't complete the full 700 + chapters...I dropped around 600... Everything was going good with the novel when I started it first....the characters were good....no usual young master tropes...well as usual the female lead gets the honor of becoming the housewife after the romantic subplot is taken care of...but I gotta say the romantic subplot was quite nicely done...but after that she becomes a NPC...but still I enjoyed it ...our MC was leveling up quite good...the fighting scenes where quite good...the story was progressing quite good....BUT....the problem comes with the antagonist ...there is no antagonist...Our MC fights these damnn FiendCelestials throughout the series and it gets quite monotonous...to the point where I wanted some young masters to come and get slapped by the MC... Anyways these FiendCelestials r nothing but beast with sentience...that's it...they r basically robots they don't have any personality one dies another one comes up....that is my only issue with this novel which ends up being a crucial part of any story....So I dropped...I have heard a lot about Coiling dragon 🐉 all my friends that have read it have praised it like there life depends on it....so I'll give a try next I hope It's good and I hope the MC fights real antagonist this time....!!!!!

Its a pretty standard cultivation nothing new but its still a very well fleshed out story. Probably one of the best examples of a cultivation novel

Seems like prototype of Desolate Era but still loved it .

Ignore the earlier reviews about the proliferation of pinyin, he must’ve gone back and cleaned it up because the TL is fine now. That being said, this story was amazing! There were a lot of twists and the flow kept me interested the whole way through. 5/5!

The author is a great story teller. Different from other webnovels of this genre, thr story didn't get repetitive. The main character is righteous and kind. A well-fleshed-out character.

One of IET's finest novels

A riveting tale that follows the journey of one man's rise to power. A cultivation story, your usual set backs and such. But the MC remains true to himself.

I got into the world of Chinese fantasy thanks to IET's novel. Coiling Dragon was my first, and this author had a special place in my heart. This makes my disappointment at Seeking the Flying Sword Path all the more bitter. You see, it's not the first time IET uses a background of traditionnal Chinese mythology as a background for a story. It creates a bit of a déja-vu feeling if you have already read his great novel Desolate Era, a novel whose protagonist is also a sword cultivator (although they are both fine characters with distinct motivations and personalities). The problem that quite a lot of the plot shows obvious similarities to the first great arc of the previous story, while being just good, which makes the reading a bit diificult for one who has experienced the excellence of Desolate Era. Moreover, the novel never leaves its mythological roots to go into a "freer" fantastic background like in the latter parts of its forebearer. Add to this a cast that is a bit alof for the most part, a cultivation system that, while being good, does not reach the diversity and details of the previous book and, the worst point, a cadence of repetition and filler that becomes at some points so annoying that it takes down the pleasure of reading some of the greatest moments of the story, and you'll get an above average to good novel, but a far cry from the usual level of the author's production. The translation is, in this case, the best redeeming feature of this book. CK Talon does an amazing job, with high quality in both translation itself and editing. No mistake I can remember in grammar, vocabulary or typos, a true masterwork and a clear improvment from his debut with True Martial World. In short, Seeking the Flying Sword Path is a good novel, but it does not reach the level of greatness of IET's books in general and the excellence of Desolate Era in particular, and is in fact the weakest story of the author. If you really want to read all of IET's, read this novel before you do Desolate Era. Otherwise, it's a work you can pass. My final mark is a 6 out of 10, maybe 7 if you have not read Ji Ning's adventure yet. Thanks to IET for this novel and CK Talon for translating it. Now, I'll move on to Lord Xue Ying.

An earnest, morale MC neither too overbearing or weak. Good plot and character development though some of the minor characters get forgotten along the way.
