Good story! Great story, even. But for the love of pancakes, this translation is abysmal! If the story wasn't good, I swear I wouldn't read this. I like the story but hate the translation. Read this if you have a high threshold for terrible English and have an auto correct in your head

This gets boring and repetitive after a while. Some of the girls are super annoying trying to force him into helping them and he gives in to helping him. Also author apparently gives up and drops so many women as the story goes along who were perfect waifu candidates. I mean someone who in the start said she wanted to only be by his side always...Lu er...who didnt even care to cultivate because she might die sooner only to be by his side and even when someone tried to get info from her she was willing to kill herself rather then harm MC was just dropped...

Backround characters like “NO WAY HE CAN DO THAT.” “WHAT HOW CAN HE PUNCH THAT HARD.” If removed, this novel will only have at MOST 300 chapters. If you want your eyes burning by insufferable characters. Read this.

This is one of my first alchemy cultuvation novels I read. But its one of the greatest I ever read, only for this book I bought coins and unlocked hidden chapters, because I didnt want to wait that long.... Story is really good, I love the details in Alchemy scenes....In the future, I might read it again...[img=recommend][img=update]

The MC is completely moronic and reckless. He constantly runs head first into extremely dangerous situations or obvious traps from his enemies. You'd think he'd have a plan like some great pill or overpowered abilities but most of the time he just barely survives by luck because some random person saves him or he has some miraculous enlightenment or something. Since he doesn't have any ultimate safe guard like the Black Tower from Alchemy Emperor, it just makes no sense that he's not dead yet. The cultivation levels are also all over the place. Ofc we're used to MC's jumping levels but here it's just completely ridiculous and inconsistent. Sometimes he barely defeats somebody a few minor levels higher and then a few chapters later he can fight against somebody 2 major realms higher??? And ofc the distribution of levels makes no sense either, at first some realm is supposed to be amazing and then suddenly people a realm above are everywhere in roughly the same area. Otherwise also nothing interesting, just full of cliches e.g. the classic Yin Meridians that mean some girl can't cultivate until the MC comes along and ofc moronic enemies that somehow openly don't care about MC's status as a core disciple of the sect (supposed to be above the academy elders of his enemies), Alchemist Master, or his protection by the dean who's words are supposed to be the law. And the main female companion so far is also completely insufferable. The author tries to paint her as just being a tsundere that's secretly nice but she's just crazy and useless while constantly creating problems, constantly getting mad at the MC and attacking him while he's helping her extreme amounts.

Through the first 40 chapters, this seems like a very cliche oriented novel. About a third of the first 40 chapters seem to just be filled content. Another 20% seems to be just the author making up rankings of different things which do not relate to each other and then explaining them again and again. The one positive thing I can say is that the translation is pretty good. The quality of the writing is fairly awful since it is just one recycled cliche after another. There doesn't seem to be too much originality here.

This was a fantastic story! I felt the end was a bit abrupt. I enjoyed hearing all the trials and tails of the epic hero. Probably could have conti his adventures through a whole new world.

Ending was too rushed. Nearing the end of the nivel many of the unfinished plots were also finished too quickly. Especially the part of him reuniting his parents. The plots was introduced way before but only finished at the ending without any development to the plot. As well as the ending for Mu Lingxue which was also rushed to end

There is SOOOOOO much wasted potential in this novel. It suffers significantly from Abandoned Character Syndrome and it really doesn't need to. Spoilers follow. . . My biggest gripe is that people who should be core to the protagonist are repeatedly left behind, brought back in brief mentions where they're magically b leveled up to be *close* to the protagonist (off screen) but are eternally left "not powerful enough" to be part of his life or adventure. It's the trope of an MC that has to be able to cultivate faster than ANYONE including his loved ones. Some moments shine. The female love interest gets an arc as an antagonist with power on par to the MC and that's good. But the author sets up far too many characters who have potential and instead of allowing them to grow with the MC and develop, they're replaced with other characters who fill the same roles. Yue Mengli, White Light, etc, could all have helped fight in the final battles but they didn't. If Yang Qing can come in at the end and keep up with the MC (as a clear second fiddle but still relevant) why can't anyone else? Why couldn't literally any of his disciples continue to journey with him and grow in their alchemy? The ending lacks the emotional payoff a story of this length deserves. Emotional events are mentioned but happen off screen leaving a somewhat hollow "and they all lived happily ever after" end.

Cliched, repetitive, and varying wildly in quality and consistency. Some arcs are decent, or even good, but are then followed up with stuff I found almost unreadable. One thing that really annoyed me was that he is apparently so good at alchemy because of his focus on the basics and no one, I mean absolutely NO ONE, has done that before. Thats it, thats why he is the best, no one has ever thought to practice tier one alchemy. I stopped enjoying it around 1000 chapters in and was carried the rest of the way by the sunk cost fallacy.

One of my top favs cultivation novels. Yeah it was long but I enjoyed the story only thing is the last chapter felt lazy, since it was the last chapter they just tossed everything in to close up lose ends. Hope they decide to write more chapters!

Loved it, repetitive fun that keeps me entertained for long sleepless nights. I'd love to see some of the author's closing thoughts, but sadly there are non. All in all, thank you for occupying my time on this earth with this novel. [img=recommend]

Its kinda crazy that I started reading this novel way back in 2017 as one of my first light novels and its finally over after 3000+ chapters. So for my honest review, the plot was very circular and repetitive. A lot of face slapping and the main story of climbing to the top of the new world got overused. The mc’s personality of being dedicated and determined to a fault was cool but frankly him and most of the characters were one dimensional. I did like the essence of the story but the author strayed from that at the end because medicine or alchemy kinda went out the window. Overall I enjoyed this story but I can’t recommend that everyone should read 3000 chapters considering my honest reviews about the plot and characters.

basically just bad pacing, I think. I mean it's... fine? there's nothing really wrong with it per se. I think my biggest problem with this story is that in order to really understand what's going on you have to be familiar with Wuxia novels. this is fine as the Target Audience is obviously people on WebNovel. the Problem is the Author feels the need to take several pages to explain things we should already be able to figure out. For example, A very intense scene with a man BLEADING OUT ON THE FLOOR is just pushed to the side while two people just like, talk? and stare angrily while reminiscing?? So yeah, flow of the story is really odd in certain places and the pacing is off.
