Chapter 5: Chapter 5 – The Ultimate Trial of Layered Time
Golden light from the Time Layer gate revealed the stage of the final trial.
Time layers stacked like floating stones,
and the magical pocket watch ticked like a heartbeat.
The Overseer appeared before Ren.
> "This is the ultimate trial… No one has ever passed it completely.
Everything you encounter will be locks and bots.
You must understand the layers of time and fight with them, not just with strength."
Ren inhaled sharply, gripping his magical pocket watch.
> "I'm not afraid… Time is mine as well."
Suddenly, a layer fractured into swirling stone fragments.
The fragments revealed opponents from past and future.
Each layer smelled different: the ancient layer like old forests, the future layer full of steel and neon lights.
Ren took his first step.
> "Each layer… feels like a real era."
The opponent appeared, JoJo-style.
Moves distorted as if time itself bent around them
Moving so fast it seemed short and long simultaneously
Ren had to analyze every moment, using Art of Time Reversal.
Ren spun, his watch glowing.
Slowing down certain seconds, while surrounding layers moved faster
He spotted a "hidden path" through dust and fragments of past-future layers
Lock point? The opponent attacked with no obvious opening
Ren used Art of Time Reversal to redirect the attack, forcing the opponent to miss
The Overseer laughed loudly.
> "Hahaha! This… is the fight of Layered Time.
No way seems possible… yet every layer has its own path!"
Ren stepped forward again.
Using sight and time to evaluate
Every time layer gave cues: smell, sound, power
Ren began predicting the opponent's moves
First lock point opened — a new path appeared immediately
The opponent countered.
Amidst swirling stone fragments and ticking watches
Ren paused for a moment
Mind Game: Choose
Follow the "easy-looking path" or
Risk the hidden path that could lead to victory
Ren smiled JoJo-style.
> "Time… I will use it to surpass all limits!"
The Overseer's cold grin.
> "You've passed the first point… but the next will get harder every second!
Remember, young man from Takkalu… this is the true trial!"
Light from Ren's magical pocket watch expanded.
Every stone fragment rotated with the rhythm
Every time layer bent around him
