Ashter was alerted by his mother's sudden urgency but that wasn't what baffled him. He couldn't wrap his head around why she would start casting a spell when the trespasser hadn't shown himself, they probably ran off by now and a far distance away too because there was no sight of them. Looking at the yellow gleam solidifying around Eve's presence, Ashter's eyes widened.

She was casting a barrier spell! But why?
More questions arose in his head but he held them on his tongue. Silver solidified around them. The sizzling grew louder...
