Chapter 356: Corpses

The stone fortress stood as a sentinel in the heart of the dark forest, its dilapidated structure whispering tales of ancient battles. Darkness enveloped the surroundings, with only a faint, ethereal glow filtering through the mist overhead. Enhanced perceptions allowed the elven group to navigate the shadows that would have otherwise rendered them blind.

Tristan's keen observation discerned the nature of the place. Rather than a regal castle, it resembled more of an ancient fortress, with three entrances wide enough for ten men to walk abreast, each gate bearing signs of ruin and decay. The group descended, their graceful flight bringing them into the castle's grim embrace. Within both the inner and outer courtyards, the ground was littered with a macabre display of bones – remnants of a time long past.
