That morning, Cerin did not head straight to the gym after her morning run but instead began to clear out the two rooms adjacent to her own in preparation
Out of all the women she had met, the Eighth was the only one who's request she could complete. and she wasn't even sure if they were alive. but as she had promised she would do her best. And after three months of adjusting to her new skills and memories she felt she was prepared to try.
The young girl strode onto the street dressed in housewife attire, from the long skirt to the conservative top and wide headband pulling her now short and curly hair back. As she walked with her basket in hand she failed to register the appreciative glances of the men that littered the streets of the university town and headed straight for the grocery.
Although Nine was unawares of it Four had long ago altered the constitution-improving prescripment and had integrated a figure improving recipe into it. it was so long ago that even Four herself had forgotten she had done so and as a result forgot to warn Nine about the alteration. There was also the effects of her regular attendance to the gym that was balanced out by three's recommended exercises that had given her a lean and healthy looking body. a rather far cry from the delicate sunflower she once was.
Cerin steeped into the busy market place and began prowling the stalls for the freshest ingredients she could find, accidentally drawing the attention of bystanders as she haggled over the prices.
It was a rather odd sight to see such a young girl haggling like a veteran with the obviously older women and seeing her out maneuver the older housewives when picking out ingredients.
Her hands and feet moved so fast they were almost a blur as she whipped in and out of the crowd. In some cases the vendors would suddenly discover a pile of money in place of their product but no idea who purchased it.
The older women around looked on with a semi-wistful gaze as they recalled their own daughters at home who did nothing but laze around the house and complain about the quality of the food they had nothing to do with making.
'Ah. if only my daughter were like that, wouldn't I have no worries in sending her off to college? or even marriage.'
Meanwhile the younger men looked at her with gazes of longing, this time not because of her looks but her frugality,
'Ah, wouldn't it be nice to have such a money conscious girlfriend? how easy would shopping for anniversaries be then.'
Cerin, the subject of their thoughts remained oblivious and strode out of the marketplace with a full basket of groceries and an extremely focused expression as she made her next stop to the pharmacy.
At her arrival and appearance she was automatically steered towards the prenatal medication section and held back a scowl as she shook off the over enthusiastic sales girl and headed to the adult and infant medication sections.
She dropped off her spoils of war at home and dug through The eighth Cerins memories for the location then headed out once more.
At her death Eight's last regret was her neglect of the criminal's family despite her promise and so her final request to Cerin was to check in on the young girl that had recently given birth and to help her out if necessary.
Cerin admittedly did feel uncomfortable about possibly meeting a mother that could either be slightly older or younger than herself but quickly put the feeling aside and after a quick encouragement cheer to herself headed out.
