After one of many long nights of Cerin going through recipes and Ryella soaking them in like a sponge the older girl was doubly careful to be quiet in the morning as she prepared to go out for the run.
Cerin slipped on her sneakers and took out the concoction she had made the night before and poured it into her water bottle.
The second the door clicked shut and betrayed her exit an adorably tired Ryella slammed out of the room and looked around with wide eyes for Cerin. Her eyes slanted close together as she realized that she had missed her and she began to sulk.
'I wanted to go with her.'
Small tears beaded in her eyes but she shook them off and instead dug out the little book that Cerin had written for her. In Ryella's mind, the reason Cerin wouldn't take her along with her for the runs and for other things was simply because she hadn't shown she was responsible enough yet. In that case all she had to do was practise and practice until she could prove to Cerin that she was trustworthy.
The little one finished up her monologue on her own and stood in the hallway, staring longingly at the front door until she finally succumbed to the sweet bliss of sleep and headed back in to her room.
After her jog and her time at the gym Cerin headed straight to the event venue to pick up a registration form. The line was relatively short as the fashion industry wasn't as popular as the music or film industry with the masses so Cerin got to the front of the line relatively quickly.
The bored woman who had been tasked with giving out the forms took one look at Cerin who was pretty enough and quite obviously fit and without asking gave her a form for the models rather than the designer.
Cerin took the form and stood to the side to read over it but after registering what it said she was forced back into the line. A small conceited smile played on her face as she put together what had happened and the expression suited her haughty features so much that a few passerbys couldn't help but give her a second glance, which of course only deepened the smile.
As she stood and waited to request for the proper form it appeared that something similar had happened to the man- or rather the teen in the front, the only difference was that he didn't wait until he had left the line to fight it.
" Excuse me ma'am, I didn't come here as a designer but rather as a model."
The woman handing out theses forms blinked herself awake for probably the first time that day and looked over the man properly, as did Cerin from her spot in the line. As she looked him over she could see why the woman had given him the form.
The kid was decent looking at best with plain features, save for his lips that were a pleasant mixture of thin and plump and could express an array of expressions with a twitch. Moving past his face, he was tall enough but was scrawny and sickly looking and looked like an artist type that only stepped out of their studios once or twice in a whole month.
He was dressed decently enough but the awkward way he stood in his clothes mad it obvious to tell that some one else had played a heavy hand in his dressing.
The kid wavered as he stood still like he would faint at any moment or slight stimulation and this propelled the woman to say,
" Are you sure sir? Being a model is quite physically taxing..and it might be a burden to the designer if you were to be constantly ill."
He chose not to respond to her condescending tone and instead just took the form off the table and walked away to fill it out. Although he had taken the high road Cerin could see his frail shoulders tremble with frustration and her attention was drawn. His trying to become a model was obviously not just at a whim because if it was he would have quit after being dismissed by the staff by now.
Cerin quickly switched hers out as well and went to sit at the table set out for applicants. The table was small so it had filled up rather quickly and she ended up beside that same sickly man.
As she filled out the form her eyes naturally drifted onto his own and she caught his name, Tryfon Geir. Her gaze drifted further upwards to his face and stayed there but he was so focused in his work that he paid her little to no mind.
Or so she thought.
Meanwhile, Tryfon had caught her gaze and for a moment was confused as to why she was staring him down. He knew that she wasn't applying to be a model so her wanting to copy his answers was impossible, as well he was confident that he couldn't ever hope to attract a woman's attention based solely on his appearance so that was out as well.
Finally after enduring for what seemed like a decade but was actually only a few minutes he stiffened his expression into a slight scowl and raised his languid eyes to meet hers and stared right back at her.
For a moment Cerin was taken aback by the sudden movement but didn't show it and sent a kind but somehow condescending smile to the adolescent.
" Hello. My name is Cerin.. And you are?"
Bah bah bahhh! Introducing a new character! And no I'm not done with ryella and Serena's story quite yet but the story will be picking up a bit of pace as she focused more and more on the competition and tarts school so the focus on them will be wrapped up in a bit.
