"The tomb must be right down there," Vanilla said, looking through the stairs at the bottom. "and obviously the access to the secret passage that Mr. Greymann found."

But before they descended, the ironwork door that kept them safe from the hungry zombie mob rumbled, and began to get dented and bent.

Damn. Those monsters didn't give up. Why did everyone and everything desire Vanilla's body so much?

"Will they give up?" Rowie asked.

"No," Vanilla responded, calm and stoic as ever. "Unless we kill them all or the one who summoned them, they are going to be there indefinitely. That's why we need to keep going." She stepped on the stairs and walked down. Rowie and Custos Cattus followed behind.

The aquamarine came to her mind. It was supposed to be a harmless, healing gem, capable of closing up the deepest wounds and alleviating excruciating pains. Why did it damage the zombie?
