Synopsis

Troy Armitage knows that he was someone else before his birth in 1989. Yet, that didn't help him much when he was dealt a bad hand in life. A chance encounter led him to path that would make him the biggest superstar in the world.

A showbiz story starting in 1997 and (hopefully) going all the way forward to 2020s if the readers keep supporting.

Finally, a reincarnation Hollywood story that doesn't rush to make a superstar out of the protagonist. I really love the direction this is going and would love to see the development of Troy. Keep up the good work! I don't know about others, but I love the dark tones you are using in the story.

I’ve really enjoyed it so far; the pacing of the events is perfect, without rushing anything. I also like the MC’s personality. I just hope he isn’t the type of MC who is good at everything. I’ve read other novels where the protagonist acts, sings, writes comics, is a hacker… that makes the story a bit too overpowered. But so far, it’s been really good. I’ve read up to episode 12, and it seems like he’s going to get into singing as well? That’s fine, but I hope his career is more focused on acting with singing as a secondary aspect. Thank you so much for writing this fic, author-sama.

what this guy said... also because no one in the reviews is going to tell you that the novel is well written but the mc is like he said just a pushover in every single decision no matter big or small in his life.

The story is good. The way the story is written is more of like a biography of the MC rather than a novel, in my opinion. The dialogues and acting scenes just exists just to further the monologue. It is not bad if you think of it as it is, since thag is also another way of portraying a story, but if you expected there to be more acting scenes or to dive deeper into the roles, then this story is not it. Like I said every interaction or scene are just a means to further the monologue and not the other way around. And I would it preferred to be the other way around since this is an Acting Story. However, that is just my opinion and personal preference tho. Now for the world builiding. I found it lacking especially in dimension and depth. Hollywood or just the movie world in paticular is very deep and diverse, it wasn't portrayed well in this story or dived deep enough. If I were to suggest references of Hollywood-type novels/stories where they might not be perfect but I personally believe has grasped the essense of Hollywood genre or Acting Stories, they would be: Legendary Actor, & Legendary Hollywood Director. Both are translated by Shallowman here in Webnovel. Now for the main character itself, I find it very hard to connect with him since he acts like a child most of the time. He has the temperament of child when actually he has the soul of an old man literally. You can ignore it most of the time, but can be cringe when you think about it sometimes how he acts like a kid when he's that grown. But that is still a personal opinion and a valid one. You can hear what you want to hear, but believe this review came from a good place and intentions.

A decent novel, but overly slow at times—artificially dragged out with unnecessary drama. Pros: A solid protagonist with the cheat ability of future knowledge. The writing quality is decent overall, especially the film selections, behind-the-scenes details, and reactions from critics and audiences. The author clearly put effort into these parts, so props to them. Now, onto the cons—let’s break them down in detail. First-person narration. This works well when the character is the sole storyteller, but in this case, it doesn’t. I’d even call it the author’s fundamental mistake. First-person narration creates inconsistency in storytelling. When it’s from the protagonist’s perspective, it’s fine, but for plot reasons, the author suddenly shifts to other characters’ viewpoints. This kills reader engagement—people simply don’t care about side characters. They already have the protagonist’s thoughts, emotions, and life to follow; they don’t give a damn about some random side character’s struggles. Had the author written the entire novel in third person, these issues wouldn’t exist. The plot would’ve felt more structured, logical, and smooth for the audience. Pacing issues and artificial stretching of an already slow plot. I get why the author clarified in the synopsis that the protagonist isn’t an adult time traveler but a boy who gained future knowledge through déjà vu. I might’ve accepted this if the novel didn’t open with a scene of the protagonist’s mother in a threesome while high. The author likely intended to portray the protagonist as more mature due to a rough childhood, but instead, it came off as bipolar disorder. One moment, he treats the nightmare around him as normal (or just brushes it off), and the next, he’s getting offended by an 8-year-old kid. Sometimes he acts like a rational adult in tough situations, and other times he’s screaming "Daddy!" over a birthday present. For a real child, this might’ve worked, but here, it just creates cognitive dissonance. Weakly written side characters. The irony is, if you want your side characters to feel deep and alive, you have to write from their perspective—but readers inherently don’t care and just skip those parts. Because of this, characters like Evans become annoying. It’s not that people hate him—it’s that he’s poorly and hastily written. You simply don’t care about his "tragedy." You don’t pity him, you don’t sympathize with his loss—the only thought that comes to mind is: "Oh, so just when I was relieved this annoying guy was going home, the author killed his family to force him to stay and keep irritating me?!" The same goes for the excessive drama in other moments, like the protagonist’s depression over trivial things. Because of the issues above, none of it feels believable, and everything afterward just comes off as pointless padding. All of this could’ve been avoided if the author had used third-person narration and put a bit more effort into the characters. :3

You don't have balance in your writing. First you win every possible award, then you get paid over 50 million, but then you start suppressing MC. You act in a low-budget film, you get paid a small salary, as if all the work you did before has been reset. You show the same thing in MC's behavior. Sometimes you are an adult. Sometimes you are a child. Whenever it is in the interest of the story, you are an adult. Whenever it is not, you are a child. And you almost do big things at the age of 13.14. When do producers hire you at the age of 13? No one expects a teenager to open a charity. You know how to prolong many tragedies and you also pair them with anyone, sometimes you separate them, like Emma Watson. You separated them because your relationship was on the news. What a ridiculous reason.

you know, you are somewhat of a competitor to me cause i too translate a Hollywood/Entertainment novel(xD), but your novel is awesome enough for me to give you both of my powerstones... while not much has happended considering that I have written this review at just 12 chaps but i like the direction that the author has taken plus the trope that author has written is very unique and i have never seen such a trope even if I have almost all the entertainment novels... hopefully the author continues writing this novel and doesn't drop it...

A story about Hollywood I like not to rush to develop It is better to have innovation in stories if he entered the field of writing or entered the field of business such as modifying a movie that lost because of a mistake or the like It is better to see the reaction of people to his actions and actions

It was alright dropped it though because I do not care how many times you say mc is a kid his emotional instability, and constant outburst for small things is super annoying and makes the story way less enjoyable.

When you read novels in this genre written by Chinese people, they can be as exciting, interesting and well-developed as you like, but there is always a huge BUT. It is nice to see something that is not inferior in quality to the best representatives of the genre, but at the same time does not seem strange in my eyes due to the total cultural gap between the East and the West.

good acting story. I have only one problem with it. and its the MC and the relationships with women. its usually rushed, forced, and makes no sense. his actions are super dramatic, selfish, and have no anchor in any realism, that ive witnessed. its almost fantastical how silly it is. The author does not have an understanding of women and should of just had the MC marry someone off top so we weren't forced to swallow such a pitiful attempt at romance. other than that the story is great but romance becomes a reoccurring plot that you skip. hopefully te author realizes his weak points and strays from that eventually to focus on his strengths.

this novel alongside "I'm on tv(showbiz si)" is clearly the best in its class. substantially better than the several other Hollywood reincarnations type novels.

I just found out this work on AO3 and came here to read more chapters. Personally, I've read a few novel with this setting but this novel is one of the best for me. I love troy personality and character development. Also the way you try to make troy deviate from his harry potter good boy image to this hot guy by making troy do ads is great, coz I read some that try to do this and end up sexualizing the character too much even though they're still minor which makes me uncomfortable. I'm so excited for what troy will do when Harry Potter filming ends. Overall, great job on writing this novel and I'll wait for next chapters patiently!

Decent read. But it feels like mc doesnt utilize his future knowledge. Like the 9/11, he could have at least hinted his friends family not to travel or made up an excuse at that period but he completely forgot about it. I also dislike how greedy he is for roles. It is unrealistic to take all these projects with HP. As i recall, WB had to do all the films as close as possible to capture films while the actors are still youthful. And with all the work into it, a sane human being wouldnt take several projects on top of that so theres time to rest. Even if mc doesnt go to school anymore, its hard to imagine having time to shoot that much and have stage plays as well. Theres rehersals and training on top of everything after all
