Chapter 63: A stroll on the market

The market met the trio with bustling activity and a complete lack of any regard. Dozens of people explored the stalls. Traders did everything they could to advertise their wares, from putting brightly painted signs on them to simply shouting about what they were selling. It felt like the whole Chainsaws Base population would fit in this single part of Radiant Base.

It was a cacophony of colours, noises and smells. Eve caught a whiff of something baking and then saw Celina looking in the same direction with hungry eyes.

"We need money, right now, so I could spend some on actual food," she said almost tearfully. "My teeth crave to feel soft, warm bread under them after all the mouldy cans."

"Let's look around, see who buys cores," Xia said. There was an extra spring in her step, as if the liveliness of the market seeped into her very bones.
