Chapter 74: Checkmate

Eve stopped in her tracks. Her eyes rose towards her unwelcome admirer's face and she gave him the iciest, the most bone-chilling glare she could muster. She channelled all her stresses and all her ire into it, whether recent events caused it or the gall of the man in front of her. Then, she added the force of her presence to it.

"Don't burden me with your nonsense. I wouldn't have given you a time of the day, regardless."

Whether it was Eve's despising glare or her terrifying aura, but it was enough to make the man step back. His eyes flinched with fear, but in the next moment, it turned into fury. He advanced on Eve again, his fists clenched, his own presence—level four, no less—raising the hairs on Eve's neck.

"You bitch! You are just like all the other women, chasing the bad boys who will use you and break your heart, all the while ignoring the nice guys who are ready to support you with everything they have!"
