Chapter 140: Moving on

After leaving Radiant Base in a hurry, Eve and Victor drove until the scarlet sun almost touched the horizon. On their way, they passed many dead zombies. Hexapods, driven by their commands, gathered them into heaps, but ever since the coming of Nexus's army there were too many zombies for hexapods to deal with. Even when they were all finally dead for real.

Without thinking twice or even talking about it, they chose the course that led them towards the cottage in the woods where Victor lived during his exile. It was a long distance away, though. For now, Eve and Victor stopped to rest, eat and to go over the supplies they brought with them. Not all of them, though, were their own belongings.

"This is a much nicer car than the one we took from Chainsaws Base," Eve said, stroking the leather seats of the electrocar. "I even feel a little bad for appropriating it."
