Chapter 75: Smooth talker

The walls of the building were made from bright red, unpainted bricks. It was three storeys tall, with a flat roof that gave space for building another floor or two on top, if fundament would allow it. It was jammed between two older, pre-apocalypse buildings, at the place that once was probably a parking lot. Even from the street Eve could smell the tantalising aroma of meat and vegetables from the inside, one that suddenly reminded Eve that she didn't eat anything for hours.

The windows on the first floor were decorated with hanging dream catchers, floral-patterned curtains and flower pots. The front door was made from wood, covered in a protective layer of reddish lacquer from acid rains, and carved with creeping vines. On top of it was a wide signboard with words "Nature's Dinest" painted in grass green.

Eve's brows rose at the—attempt at?—pun. "Ellin would've loved this place. Though, jokes aside, it looks quite homely."
