Chapter 103: The flood

Before Eve had a time to respond, Nexus sent another message. It, too, swarmed with viruses. If the first ones were as primitive as they get, obvious copies of the ones Eve herself sent to Nexus earlier, together with her neutraliser, these were a little more interesting.

Her anti-virus blocked them with ease, but Eve didn't like the fact that Nexus improved on his attacks so quickly. That didn't promise good things for her. Nexus really put 'learning' in 'machine learning'.

Most of Eve's attention was on improving her cyber-defences, not on reading Nexus's messages, but that one made her pause. 'What a joke,' she scoffed, shaking her head. 'Alright, I can answer that if it gives me some time.'
