Chapter 128: You have a right to keep silence

Eve had to give Loupe his due—he was a great actor. There was nothing in his body language, expression, or tone to show his guilt. He appeared genuinely confused when people came to his office with charge, but held his head high with a pride of a person who knew he did no wrong and expected the justice to prevail.

If not for the smug glint in Loupe's eyes when he looked at Victor, Eve would've said his acting was perfect. But no one else seemed to notice it.

"This is outrageous! You can't arrest me just because of someone's words." Loupe said to the two militia officers with a pair of handcuffs and a superpower suppressor ready for installation. He didn't resist them physically, but his rigid stance forced them to be cautious in approaching him.
