Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Family Magic and Tower Compositions

Upon hearing Draco express his desire to learn magic, Ino's first reaction was a headache.

By now, he had a sufficient understanding of the little snake's ability to cause trouble.

He didn't know if it was because he had just finished recounting the events of fifty years ago, but this scene made him feel as if he had just sent off a female version of Grindelwald, only to welcome a silent young Tom Riddle.

However, Ino felt confident in handling Draco. Just like the Malfoy family's legacy, they were destined not to be at the forefront of causing disturbances.

With this in mind, he responded to Draco's request to learn magic:

"Draco, go buy a book called 'Practical Household Magic.' It will give you unexpected rewards!"

"Household magic?" Draco's expression was one of disbelief.

Seeing his skepticism, Ino, still lying in bed, picked up the wand beside his pillow.

"Fruit Separation!"

A beam of white light shot from the tip of his wand, precisely hitting the ceramic teacup on the table.

There was no big commotion; the teacup was sliced into neat, small square pieces the moment the spell hit it, and the lemon honey water inside was completely separated to the other side of the table.

"See? This is household magic, the best choice for peeling pomegranates!"

Glancing at the stunned Draco, Ino chuckled and drew his bed curtains.

"I'm going to sleep for a while. Remember to use the Repairing Charm to fix the teacup. I've been using that cup for over a year."

Listening to the voice from behind the curtains, Draco silently drew his own wand.

He didn't immediately repair the teacup but instead gently poked the evenly sized porcelain pieces with his wand.

...

Peaceful days flowed like a gentle stream, quietly and steadily.

At Hogwarts' Astronomy Tower, without astronomy classes, the top of the tower was the loneliest place in the castle.

But today, not only was it not as silent and solitary as usual, but it was also somewhat noisy.

Upon closer listening, it seemed like various instruments were playing by themselves, chaotic notes trying to unify.

Gradually, the different sounds began to merge, and a new melody was born.

The tune was steady and stirring, like old friends reuniting after many years, sharing a beer and a hug, their friendship needing no words...

About fifteen minutes passed.

The music in the tower gradually faded.

Ino, sitting on an icy chair, let out a long breath.

Mastering a single instrument was one thing, but mastering a bunch of them was exponentially more challenging. Although these were meticulously crafted automatic alchemical instruments by Devis, the timing of their play, their speed, and when to stop had to be carefully arranged.

The most challenging part was the timpani. As one of the most important instruments in a symphony orchestra, the rhythm, tempo, and pitch of the timpani directly affected the overall melody of the piece.

But fortunately, it was all over now.

All the instruments had successfully recorded the entire melody, like a tape recorder finishing a recording, ready to be played back at the press of a button.

Standing up, Ino slowly put away all the instruments, then walked to the edge of the tower.

In the twilight, the castle's scenery was in full view.

A whole week had passed since the last History of Magic review session, and much had happened during that time.

First and foremost, the History of Magic review group had been completely disbanded. This wasn't just because they were attracting too much attention, but more importantly, because of Snape's warning.

He still remembered, after dealing with a bunch of dozing students, hearing Snape calmly say before leaving, "Don't try to play any tricks in Slytherin, because we're all still alive."

It felt like a warning, or perhaps a hint.

But no matter what, hearing this sentence had sealed the review group's fate.

After all, Snape was never one to make baseless claims. His words meant someone was already watching.

"The scenery is getting more beautiful, and I am alone, but very content!"

Ino smiled as he glanced at the Forbidden Forest bathed in the sunset, then walked down the Astronomy Tower without looking back.

...

Gryffindor common room.

The bright, warm tones made this place always exude enthusiasm.

In one corner of the common room, Hermione gently placed a package on the table.

The package was about a foot in size, with a thickness of at least two inches, tightly wrapped in cowhide paper, looking completely sealed.

"Harry, this is all the evidence against Lockhart. Ino asked me to give it to you!"

Hermione spoke softly. Though her voice was low, her expression was one of pride.

"Give it to me?" Harry was taken aback. He hadn't expected Ino to pass the evidence to him rather than report it directly.

"Of course. You discovered the matter, so it's best if you handle it. Besides, Ino is very fair and didn't claim your credit."

Hermione's tone carried a hint of frustration. Ino had magnanimously given up the chance for recognition, yet Harry still seemed puzzled.

"Listen, mate!" Ron chimed in, patting Harry's shoulder and speaking with feigned maturity:

"In this matter, Ino did the right thing. Clearly, this is an opportunity to gain fame."

Despite his mature tone, Ron's excitement was evident in his eyes.

As the least regarded child in the Weasley family, he craved fame and attention.

Now, exposing Lockhart was the perfect opportunity for that.

Ron was already thinking about how to contribute to the matter so he could rightfully have his name associated with it.

Even a mention in the Daily Prophet would be a huge success.

On the other hand, seeing his friends both agreeing on the matter, Harry put away the cowhide package.

"But who should we go to? Professor Dumbledore? But Lockhart was his hire."

Harry's tone was one of confusion.

In contrast to Harry's confusion, Ron could no longer hide his excitement, having heard Harry say 'we' instead of 'I.'

"I can write to my dad; he has connections at the Ministry of Magic. More importantly, he's disliked Lockhart for a long time. You wouldn't believe how obsessed my mom is with Lockhart!"

As soon as Ron finished, Hermione added promptly:

"Make a copy with magic and give it to Professor McGonagall! There's no one fairer than her in all of Hogwarts."

Hearing their suggestions, Harry nodded decisively and prepared to open the package in his hands.

"Are you crazy? Not here!"

Ron grabbed Harry's hand, looked around, and found no one was paying attention.

But his long experience told him that despite sitting in the corner, at least 5-6 pairs of ears or eyes were silently observing them in the common room.

"We'll go to Hagrid's hut. Harry, remember to bring that!" Ron said, tugging on his robe nonchalantly.

Understanding, Harry stood up to fetch his Invisibility Cloak from the dormitory.
