Thomas Vasquez is a man who sets his mind upon things he could gain with. He makes sure that everything that happens around him is under his control and isn't beyond his intellectual capacity. 

Before someone could even load a gun to harm him, he would aim a bazooka to scare his enemies away. But then, a supernatural event occurred, that even he can't avoid.

It is something beyond his knowledge and he can't control the series of events after that unusuality.
