I've already lost count of how many years have been since the last time I felt the warmth of the morning sun. Five hundred years? No. It's been seven hundred years. I'm fully awake the entire time, I've never fallen asleep. I could not. I've felt every painful second of it until now, since the day this world forbade me from the life I longed for.
Slowly, I opened my eyes while stepping out from a narrow stone coffin shape prison they have used to take away my freedom. Outside, four of my most loyal companions greeted me while kneeling they're bowing their heads. We've shared the same fate. We have waited until this very faithful day to come.
One of them raises her head.
"We are overflowing with joy that finally, we can serve you again, our Goddess, Lady Venena.
I too am overjoyed seeing them again after such a long time, but my attention quickly diverted to the two people near the magic altar, where the magic circle that was supposed to seal me no longer exists. Two young boys crying while hugging each other. At one glance I've already known what they are. Spriggans. The race that worshipping me since back then. Did it take them this long to broke me free? No, I'm not that naive. There is something that made them do it.
I walked through the crowd of my four companions, they quickly gave me the way.
Now the scenery is finally visible to me. The clear blue sky with very few white clouds covering it, the green leaves of tall trees, the chirping of birds that I used to only heard from my small cage, and the high and steep mountains that keeping me hidden from this world.
I'm just a few steps away from the children, now I can see them. I saw fresh wounds all over their body, but it's far from being fatal and their clothes are full of dirt too, they've gone through a lot just to make it here. They suddenly stop crying, but rather than showing fear because of my presence they kneeled before me and show their utmost respect.
I can't help myself but smile.
"I assume, you two are the reason for freeing me. What may be the reason? And what reward do you want to get in exchange?"
Quickly one of them raised his head. From the looks of it, he is the older one.
"We desire no reward, we just want to serve under our Goddess. The Goddess of the spriggans..." With just a blink of an eye, his expression changed. His eyes started to get engulfed with great hatred and inexplicable pain.
"They're... They're gone. The entire spriggan race has been wiped out. The entire world banded together just to annihilate us. I want all of them gone."
I no longer have any concerns about the spriggans, but his reason why they set me free is what piqued my interest.
I gently caressed the head of two children. I have never imagined that the very first thing that I would touch after I got freed is two children's hair. For being my savior, they deserve the credit.
"Now, I have finally returned. I will do the vengeance for you. I will eradicate them all. Every race, every nation, and every kingdom. I will trample them all just like how they trampled my dreams."
I stand up properly and waved my hand around the place.
"Everything this world holds will be mine. I will build a new world and shape it with my image and make it a fulfilling world with only us. No other race, no other ruler... Only us. And I will make sure this current world will experience pain that they've never experienced before. Especially... the lineage of the hero, Ragnar. The betrayer... Ragnar."
I am terrified for this world.
Because what I'm gonna bring them is more than a nightmare, I will make sure that they will love my gift for them... long and agonizing death.
