Two nights since the Fons et origo of Reynard's plan and thirst for vengeance…
"Are you sure those bombs are powerful enough and will trigger chain explosions?" Reynard asked his friend just as he got out of the first building of Mack's which he rigged to explode out of dozens, his friend fired back tons of positive answers each time he asked and at this point, his friend was getting tired of saying "Yes" to him so many times that it showed in his tone.
"Alright, then come 9AM tomorrow avenging Keelstelle will be much easier, well… approximately half of his buildings, all the ones filled with his personal workers will be burnt to a crisp and their work, his money, will be shot to hell." Reynard told his friend about his plan. "Hey, how do you know exactly that these specific buildings are filled with his personal workers?" Reynard's friend asked him, particularly curious.
"Cozbi's a reliable source, she told me, didn't she tell you at all?" Reynard answered him then asked his friend. "Oohhh— oof, that's perhaps what that encrypted email she sent me is touching on, she probably did?" His friend replied as he actually checked to see if it was Intel.
Reynard hung up on his friend, the night was young for him and he still had ways to go until it's old enough to retire, so he was going to finish the plan he had in mind, he couldn't hide his satisfaction. They were talking through his friend's makeshift encrypted, untraceable phones; nobody can eavesdrop on their calls with these specifically made phones. "If you care to share an answer for this, what are we doing down the road of a Cadel incorporated building?" Anthony asked Derek as he was sincerely lost on the point, "He's barely ever around this building." Anthony finished informing Derek confidently in that fact but confused and waiting for an answer.
"You did the cerebral and stealthy work for half a decade and dug up that vigilante that I met the other night and resistance member as Reynard Jono, right?" Derek asked rhetorically. "What exactly is somebody like him doing combating the cult?" Derek asked to be sure of Anthony's following his thoughts, Anthony nodde. "I've profiled him, other rich kids I surmised must be part of it then compiled and figured that he wasn't your ordinary rich kid. I can't give you a further deeper dive into his psyche, he does seem to have possessed superhuman physical abilities and being part of a team that gave me hope, saving lives from the cult's many.. less than legal activities regardless he seems to be driven by revenge. I'm guessing the mystery behind that is what you really want to know more about most of all, gassy gossip?" Anthony replied as he sat back and put his feet up in his rented car as the two sat in it.
"No! And I know he is, and that he works here, at this specific building of his, one of the best quality buildings and seemingly one of the more important ones." Derek enlightened Anthony who dug into a lot of things that didn't matter to the vegan investigator. "You really took your time to care enough about that? Anthony asked rhetorically. "We're on a bit of a rare daytime stakeout so get comfortable because we might be here a while." Derek advised his new partner in vigilantism. Out of the blue, disrupting the area around them while causing massive panic and chaos, the building started exploding through large chain explosions so suddenly, it messed Derek himself up… cars crashed into things, and passing pedestrians while the mass panic that affected the area happened, people started running away in a hurry but other buildings exploded as well.
"All of those lives!" Derek cried out the worst cry he ever let out in his life, the feelings he felt when he realized he was powerless to stop and oblivious to the coming deaths of dozens and dozens and dozens of innocents made him howl as he heard others yelling how similar building over the city owned by Mack industries are exploding. He never ever failed as horrendously in his career as a hero as he was in this city. Anthony was left speechless, he was frozen, and quite possibly vengeful as well, he's not technically the super hero Derek is but he placed as much blame, he realized so many died and he realized Derek would blame himself for failing to cuff the man he believes was behind the unexpected explosive attack, Reynard Jono from a whisper and his heroic companion gripping his wrist. Anthony looked over at Derek and saw a few tears roaming down his face. He glanced over flashing through the fact that noticeable chunks of Derek's hair turned into an elegant Gray before he stormed off almost in a villainous manner.
"Hey, what're you planning? To attack the mayor's home?!" Anthony asked and yelled out to Derek as he continued to march away, Derek said almost in a dull tone. "To bring vengeance to the avenger!" As he continued storming off. Anthony couldn't catch up with his speed, because thanks to the absence of civilians in the area thanks to the bombings, he could take advantage of his Enotoskure form to get to Reynard faster. Derek arrived at the Jono mansion, unarmed and without any weapons as usual but he changed on the way, Derek kicked open the Jono's gates as he flounced his way onto the property, right in front of countless guards, which is the price. He encountered one guard early and he was armed with a submachine gun, before he could finish his warning, Derek flitted faster than he could react to pull the trigger to slam his face on the ground, a decision his dad is very guilty of doing a lot, undiscovered by Derek.
Derek then continued to march towards a confrontation with Reynard Jono, he doesn't care how many guards he has to hospitalize to get a face to face with him.
Finally after taking out droves of the rich Mayor JinJunyë's guards to get to him, Derek finally made it to what he suspected was Reynard's room in the mansion, for some reason nobody was actually inside the mansion but guards and guards, Derek surmised the Mayor must've been at some meeting, having been early in the day after all. However, he couldn't answer why Reynard wasn't home, Derek decided to search around for any clues he might've left, his expectations for finding anything based on his "Fixer" skills was at an all time low. Still he searched around and searched around but found nothing but an empty home and an advertisement for "Ezra's PC repair!" And the Ad was so colorful it made him uncomfortable.
"I really, truly have no clue why or how the evil men that did this, did it, but lemme definitely assure you of this fact, It certainly didn't go unnoticed by the law and I'll stay confident our finest will catch these guys and give them everything they've got coming." Mack stated while in an interview with the news, a smug look creeped on his face toward the end pointed out by Amin as he and Reynard were sitting watching him on JinJunyë news. Reynard and his friend, Amin, laughed and cheered as they watched the interview and felt like they won for once. The "Didn't go unnoticed!" Part really made Reynard's day, it made him feel like he did something that put a dent into the cult for once. During their time of celebration, from downstairs in the basement, the duo heard what sounded like someone kicking a door in, violently and vengefully.
"REYNARD JONO, we have something to talk about!" They heard someone shout out loud and with a furious tone in their shop above. "Stay right here, Am, I recognize that shrill, he somehow found us." Reynard commanded and stated as he got in an alert and protective stance quickly. "How does he know or why does he think we're behind this?" Amin asked his buddy as he got out of his chair. "So many questions, so little time to answer any, I can run him off, gotta suit up real quick." Reynard replied before running to where gear was in their shop's basement. Reynard slowly made his way upstairs, this "House shop" was pretty big for someone who makes money repairing computers but he also is pretty equipped to make "illegal upgrades" that pays for the two. Halfway up the stairs and his confrontation with Mist-Deemer, Reynard realized Amin didn't stay put like he had ordered him. "Keelstelle was training me!" Amin whispered to his pal, Reynard, as he looked back with a disapproving expression placed on his face. "Or had been training with him!" Amin finished after he looked down, he's still mourning his buddy's death. Reynard truly did and still disapproved of Amin coming to help fight the vigilante of Chaelb but he eventually tried to focus his mind on the issue at hand, and continued approaching upwards whereas Amin tried but felt hesitant at moments. Amin split off with Reynard when the two made their way upstairs, instead of sticking with him, luckily his gut told him right, he saw Mist-Deemer standing by himself in their living room departing from one old photo of the resisting trio to another quietly. The mechanical inventor saw this as his chance to prove to his friend that he can handle his own, Amin snuck up close enough or so he thought to bust him in the back of his head with a frying pan from their kitchen, he approached as lightly as he could as he pulled his frying pan back as much as he was able to pull it. As the mechanic genius got closer with the thought that Derek was as unsuspecting as a normal Joe, Derek turned around terrifying Amin with a glance alone and forcing the mechanic into a panic, trembling and stumbling backwards with his eyes as wide as they could go. Derek realized the man he left mortified with a glance alone wasn't the vengeful peacock blue armored vigilante from nights ago and calmed himself. Derek looked at the fingers he was using to cover his eyes. "The explosive expertise?" Derek asked with a supernatural tone that freaked Amin out further. Amin crawled back with urgency fearing for his life as he waved one hand then the other. "Time to explain ourselves now, hold on, wait and wait!" Amin quivered and shouted out hoping Reynard would hear from wherever in the big split building he was searching for their invasive vigilante. "Right behind you, El Camaron!" Reynard yelled out as he cleanly came out of nowhere with a shotgun prepared to take his shot to protect his friend.
Reynard was suited up with his armor, pouches for additional stun grenades and guns as he saw Derek seemed to have a suit with no other weapons on him. "Somebody was going to explain something I'm missing?" Derek asked while he still remained in a battle ready stance, Amin became weirded out by his voice abruptly returning to a human's sort. "Trouble staying noble and honorable in this cult-run city?" Reynard asked before he gestured to Amin to run behind him and his favorite shotgun. Derek looked at the floor with a squint. "We can still find out if that shotgun's going to be enough for you to cower behind or we could figure this out without finding out first." Derek responded without a detectable hint of humor.
"I've got a few informants who were in, including myself who've scoped out a few with a mysterious anonymous source clueing us in further. One of my informants, she recently got out but had been scoping his mess out over the years alongside us, her information's been pretty honest too, and she just recently told us everyone who worked in these buildings are part of something bigger with his private and loyal goons, they're basically as guilty as he is in my eyes and the law, Mr.Supercop!" Reynard replied with confidence and without an ounce of regret in his voice. "I'm going to need to see proof." Derek thought in his head as he turned his eyes away preparing to speak those words. "If you need proof, we've conveniently got all the files of everyone's criminal records for their heartless crimes under the cult's commands over these years, unless that wasn't what you were thinking about maybe?" Reynard informed him then asked him. Reynard began to walk away until he tried to exit then felt a metallic bat smack and hit right dab in his face causing him to roll backwards. "Have you missed us at all, sweet boy?" Derek discerned from whom the raspy voice belonged to. "DAE-shim— JUN-suh?!" Derek asked with shock and his quiet voice. Reynard aligned himself beside Derek as their duo of assailants engaged in a contest of glaring.
