Steel flashed in the dim light as Ayo drew his tantos, gripping the handles tightly.
The crab charged with a guttural shriek, its clipper snapping at Ayo with lightning speed. He rolled aside, feeling the gust of wind as the claw just missed him.
No time to counterattack - the creature spun with startling agility, lashing out again. Ayo dove and slashed out with his black tanto blade, scoring a thin line across the crab's leg. It recoiled slightly but kept up its assault.
Ayo retreated under the barrage of the monster's clipper strikes, searching for an opening. The terror was too fast and too large to go on the offensive just yet.
He needed to observe its attack patterns. The crab pressed forward, using its size to bully Ayo back. He remained calm, dodging and weaving past each strike. A feint to the left drew the crab's attack before Ayo rolled right, barely avoiding the crashing clipper.
