Chapter 2: Chapter 2 ' Actual Chapter '

A old man in a teal kimono was walking through a large and ancient forest. He had sharp bushy eyebrows with a large forehead and gray pulled back hair. On his waist was a brown bag, packed with small circular objects. He moved confidently through the trees, as if he he had walked the route for many years. Pushing through some small bushes, he reached a clearing, where a number of relatively large trees could be seen growing Apricorns. With a flick of his wrist, a chisel appeared in his hand. He began walking towards the Apricorns, only to stop, hearing some rustling from a nearby bush. He slowly moved his hand towards his bag, reaching inside he pulled out a Pokeball. With a small click a 120cm brown feathered bird appeared, on it's belly were six dark triangles pointing towards the earth. With a cry of "Noctowl!" It flew into the air and landed on the old man's shoulder. He whispered to his pokemon "Check out that bush Noctowl" With a nod of it's head the Noctowl dashed towards the bush, preparing for the possibility of battle. As it flew over the bush it stared down eye's alight with confusion. It turned back around and flew back towards it's trainer. The old man seeing Noctowl's confusion began steadily moving towards the bush. "Noctowl, use Air Slash." Noctowl flew up and with a single flap of it's wings, two sharp blades of air deftly cut through the foliage before dissipating. With a satisfied nod the old man pushed through the bush to find a baby wrapped up and asleep on the ground. With a sad world-weary sigh he picked up the child and began walking back through the forest, "Poor child, being abandoned in Ilex Forest like that."

4 Year's Later

A young boy could be seen picking herbs in a garden, he had black shoulder length hair, a tanned face, and soft brown eyes. He pulled out a herb, and put it in his basket, he wiped his dirt covered hands on his trousers and began to walk back through the garden towards the nearby treeline. He put down his herb basket, and from his pockets he pulled out a looked after chisel, he dug down to the bottom of his basket and pulled out a black acorn looking thing. "Finally, I got my hands on an Apricorn and a chisel!" Erik began to giggle mischievously. He stopped suddenly, and his eyes began to gain clarity, 'What are these annoying mood swings I keep on having? Is it some sort of side effect of being reincarnated?' Erik began to seriously ponder this problem, as he feared he'd be like this for the rest of his life. 'That blond guy mentioned souls and reincarnation, but it didn't sound like he was in control of it. Perhaps he was some sort of messenger or minion? I know I've been forcefully reincarnated considering it's what he said. Ok, maybe I might've merged with a soul? Which is affecting my personality...' Erik stopped thinking, and decided to get to work on his chiseling skills.

After a couple of hours, and a lot of mistakes, Erik was finally able to pierce the hard skin of the Apricorn. He sighed in satisfaction, seeing that the sun was beginning to set, he put the Apricorn and chisel back in his bag, he began to run back through the door towards a small well kept wooden house. He opened the door "I'm back!" he yelled. A reply came from the kitchen "Get tidied up if your dirty and sit at the table!"

"Okay Grandpa Kurt!" Erik ran upstairs to his room and took of his dirty clothes. He rushed downstairs and sat in his seat. "So what did you do today?" His grandpa asked. Erik grinned "I was looking for Pokemon!" His grandpa shook his head in amusement "You've been told not to go in the forest alone Erik." They both went back to finishing their food. "Hey Grandpa, when can I learn to make Pokeballs?"

"When you're older" Grandpa Kurt said noncommittally. After dinner was finished, Erik went back up stairs and got ready for bed.

Sorry for this hella late update, I had three ideas on where this story would go and I wasn't 100% sure which one to choose, 1. He's raised by pokemon 2. He's raised by humans 3. He's a Riolu They all had different advantages and would've changed how to story went.

As well as school, which is only getting more hectic.

Exams! Yaaay~~~

*noises of pained suffering*
