Chapter 61: Chapter 61 - Dog food
The car was silent. Yunfeng sat by the right-side window, his mom was on the left, with Muchen squeezed in between. Thankfully, it was a Maybach, and it had ample seating space. The others were seated behind them, watching the three with interest.
The whole car was filled with the obnoxious scent of lemons and roses. Jai pinched his nose shut. It was overwhelming. I hate perfume!!! Scowling, he glanced at the other guy, who smelled like mango parfait. At least this guy's scent isn't as obnoxious.
Shao felt a sharp gaze fall on him. Looking down, he met the eyes of the young man named Jai. "What is it?"
"Nothing," Jai glanced away, still pinching his nose, and continued eating his popcorn. "Is something wrong?" he asked, touching his nose.
"Nah, it just smells in here."
Frowning, Shao sniffed the air. He didn't smell anything. Since Muchen was sensitive to scents, they'd had to remove the car fresheners and clean it deeply every day. Is he smelling the leather? Even that scent wasn't that intense.
"Here," he handed Jai a handkerchief. "Don't pinch your nose."
"Thanks." Jai instantly stuffed his face into the handkerchief. "Oh, thank God. At least your perfume smells good."
"Perfume?" Shao didn't usually wear perfume. Maybe my laundry smells. He subtly pulled his brown coat close and sniffed. Again, he smelled nothing. Strange... very strange. He gazed at the boy with interest.
Upon closer inspection, he was stunned. The young man had a small angular face with small lips and upturned eyes. When he frowned, he looked quite... good. Wow, why didn't I notice his face before...
Clearing his throat, he scooted a little closer. "Are you interested in acting?"
"Huh?" Jai looked at him, surprised.
"You'd make a good villain. You have that look to your face."
Jai scoffed. "I'm rich; I don't need to sell my face to make a living."
"It's not the only reason people become actors. Some like being acknowledged by their fans," Shao said softly.
The young man suddenly looked uncomfortable. "I... I don't like being recognized. I live a private life, so sorry, I won't act for you."
"Oh, it's okay." The back seats went silent. As for the occupants in the front three seats, they were quite busy.
Yunfeng could barely hold back.
The whole car was filled with their combined scents, and the man who smelled tantalizing was so close at hand. He subtly grabbed Muchen's palm. It was sweaty and slightly trembled with each of his touches.
Ah, how cute...
He gently wrapped their pinkies together. Strangely, Muchen's hands looked slightly smaller than his and fit perfectly in his own. It was like they were made for each other.
Smirking, he gazed down at Muchen. He never realized before, but when they sat down, Muchen was a few inches shorter than him. He could see the top of his head and his cowlick.
I want to touch him... I want to hug him... An invisible demon whispered in his ear.
As if sensing his intention, Muchen suddenly turned toward him and sniffed with his eyes closed.
Fuck... Yunfeng leaned forward, rubbing their faces together.
So soft...
"Ah!!" Suddenly, the soft face moved away with a scream. Looking to the side, he saw his mother pinching Muchen's ears.
"Mom!"
"Shut it. What do you think you're doing to my son?!"
Muchen gulped. "M-mother, I was..."
"Who is your mother!!!"
"A-aunt... I was just looking out the window."
His mom scoffed. "You think I didn't notice you guys squeezing your hands together?! Do you think I'm invisible, or do you think I'm blind?!"
Hana clapped soundlessly. "Wow, the show begins." She hurriedly grabbed some popcorn from Jai's hands and ate a handful.
"Mom! Stop hurting him," Yunfeng reached over and removed her hands. Gently, he soothed Muchen's heated pink ears. "He's an actor; you can't hurt him like that. His face is probably insured. He could sue you."
Muchen blushed red. "I'm not insured..."
"No, you are insured. Every part of your body is insured," Shao added from behind.
"Not helping," Muchen glared back at him.
"I'll stay silent," Shao sat back and enjoyed the show without disturbing.
"Aunt... you see... I'm actually interested in Yunfeng," Muchen daringly gazed into her eyes. Yunfeng's mother's eyes reminded him so much of Yunfeng's. They looked three parts similar, except his mother was aging. It made him imagine Yunfeng in the future. He'll be a sexy old man for sure...
"What did you just say!!!" Yunfeng's mom exploded!
"I said I'm interested in him."
"You're a man!!!"
Muchen gazed back at Yunfeng and then at his mom. "Yes. I like him, and I want to marry him."
"Oh my God! Stop the car right now!" She glared at the driver.
Muchen froze. She hates me... I should've waited. I should've befriended the family before telling them the truth. Stupid!! Why did I do that?
A hand gently grabbed his own. Yunfeng looked at him with a soft smile. "It's okay," he mouthed.
The car came to a stop, and Yunfeng's mom got out. "You, get out," she gestured for Muchen. Silently, he squeezed Yunfeng's hand and let go.
Right after he got out, she got in and sat there with a straight face. "Aren't you getting in? Or do you want to stand in the street like a crazy person?"
"Oh," Muchen happily got in. "Thank you, mother."
"I'm not your mother!" She glared back.
"Yes, mother."
"Oh my God. Why this crazy man!" She glared at Yunfeng. With a shy smile, he looked at his lap. "Don't know."
"Goodness." She let out a sigh and fell silent. Muchen was waiting intently. Does that reaction mean she approves of me…
Suddenly, a handful of tissues appeared in front of his face. Hana grinned. "Brother-in-law, won't you sign a few of these tissues for your dear sister-in-law~"
Muchen froze. "I will!" Grinning, he signed all of the tissues.
