It was springtime in city Z. The temperature had been teasing the entire city with its frequent intervals of rising and lowering of temperatures. In certain places, the wind and dust kept the people inside their houses, afraid of the nature slapping.
Sometimes, you could see sandstorms forming. However, in the heart of city Z, the business was never seen resting. People could be seen walking through the intersections. Their steps were quick as if trying to catch the last-minute plane.
Despite the hustle of the city workers, the ambiance in the city was a plus. Since it was spring, flowers started to bloom. Under the peach's trees, families and couples were having an outing. Some were seen enjoying the colorful blooms. Some were having instant inspiration as they quickly transferred the beauty into a canvas. Some were inspired to create a new melody. All of these were happening in the oh-so-busy city Z. One of the richest cities in the country.
At the heart of the buzzing city, stood a tall, modern, futuristic building, the sole place where the richest seek aid. A doctor was seen to be checking the condition of a young lady. When someone took a glance at her, they'll mistake her for someone from the outside world. She was beyond pretty.
Her hair was moon shadow-black and it flowed neatly over her shoulders. She possessed saccharine sweet lips that were lilac soft. Her velvety eyelashes and slander eyebrows accentuated her beauty even more. The hospital clothes she wore failed to cover her beauty. Her glossy skin was shining under the light that managed to go through the blinds. She was a beauty, an otherworldly beauty, but at this moment she was more of a sleeping beauty.
A woman in her fifties sat in the corner closer to the bed. Her concerned look was directed at the sleeping beauty. She was waiting for the doctor to do his final check-up of the day.
"Doctor Chen, how is young miss Fu?" The woman asked softly, afraid to disturb the beauty who was showing no sign of awakening.
Doctor Chen shook his head and sighed, "This equipment couldn't support her anymore. I'm afraid..." Doctor Chen stopped his explanation as he looked at the woman who sat on the edge of the hospital bed. He took a deep breath. He was the doctor appointed to keep the young lady's health on top. However, no matter what he did, she seemed to refuse to be awakened from her slumber. He was confused. He had checked again and again. Her sickness had been cured, but she was still in a coma.
"I believed she is psychologically in pain. Is there anything that might cause her to hate living?" He inquired. He glanced at the woman who was now wiping the young lady's delicate face.
After receiving no response, he probed "Caretaker Yun, were you listening?" The woman turned her head facing the man who was patiently waiting for answers. She sighed and said "I don't dare to speak about my young miss's life. All I can say is, she went through a lot."
She continued, "Doctor Chen, how long...how long will she persevere?" Once she asked the question, tears fell from her dark-circled eyes.
"I'm afraid today will be her last." Doctor Chen answered. His voice was faint as if he himself couldn't believe his own diagnosed.
"Let's pray that there'll be some miracle." He closed his eyes, deep in his heart, he hoped for miracles. His heart couldn't help but care for the young lady. Sighing, he added "Please contact her family. They need to prepare for the worst." Then, he walked out of the room, leaving the old woman sorting out her feeling.
Caretaker Yun took out her phone. She looked at her contacts, trying to find someone she could reach. After scrolling down and up, she sighed. She kept her phone and watched her young miss sleeping face. Yes, she was only sleeping. She would soon wake up and smile, showing her usual self. She hoped.
Outside the room, a woman in her 30s was eavesdropping the conversation between the two individuals. As she saw the man was about to leave, she quickly left. Her lips curled upward, and a sinister smile appeared on her full make-up face. Soon, the sinister smile turned to a peal of eerie laughter. She probably reached satisfaction as her evil face turned normal. She took out her phone from her branded bag and dialed a number.
"Honey! send all the documents to me ASAP. Let's proceed to phase 2." With that, she ended the phone call.
