Chapter 36: Cookies?

Chris followed after May, still shocked by how she could misunderstand a situation. However, he couldn't let her leave without clarifying. There was a good chance she wouldn't come back again if not.

He caught her wrist before she reached the stairs and pulled her back. To May's great surprise, she couldn't break free from the grip. She couldn't fight against him as he blocked her against the wall.

«I don't have a girlfriend,» he said as the first thing. That must have been enough, right?

«It doesn't matter!» she replied. «It's not important whether you call her girlfriend or fiancée or simply a lover. Sleeping with me is disrespectful to her!»

«Oh,» he sighed. She could be even worse than dense.

«You admitted it,» she said. «On a national challenge.»

«I didn't say girlfriend,» he pointed out. «Just that there's a woman I'm interested in.»

«You're not very serious, then. She should know better than letting you woo her.»
