Chapter 39: Discreet dinner

In the evening, May and Chris retired in his manor. The wind got chiller and the sea unresting, so there was no reason to stay on the beach. It was late spring, so the weather would only get better in the following weeks. They could come back later, both thought.

The manor was immersed in nature, with a narrow path for a single car t reach it. It was on top of a hill, allowing them to see the ocean in the day. A nice place, all in all.

They showered and changed back in their clothes, considering what to do for the evening in that empty place.

When May entered the living room, still rubbing her hair with a white towel, she saw Chris talking on the phone. He waved at her, telling her to give him a couple of minutes, and he listened to what the other party was saying.
