The Nightblade was largely motionless as Gus rose to his feet. Only his eyes moved, as they remained glued to the person in front of him who had just recovered from almost certain death, in nearly the blink of an eye.
"I see," the Nightblade muttered. "So you have been chosen by the Plaguelord. You have received his gifts, and not succumbed to the likely death that would have been caused as a consequence."
He remembered the Nightblade saying that this was the way of the Plaguelord giving its gifts to people, but Gus knew that the reason that he wasn't dead was thanks to the System, not any type of divine intervention. Not that he wanted to let the Nightblade realise that. Any kind of psychological advantage he might be able to get would be a good thing, especially since his health was rather low after the ordeal that he had been through.
