It was a simple thing that she was going to do. Instead of waiting for the Bloody Dawn to get to the base, she would pick off a few of them as they approached. While it wouldn't do much to alleviate the pressure on the bases and the gate should the Bloody Dawn make it that far, she couldn't really just sit around and do nothing but wait.
Knowing that the humans that survived from the Rock and the Gardens would be heading back through the paths that had been carved out of the forest, she decided to cut through the forest itself in an effort to avoid anyone. While the forest was likely a dangerous route to take, she desperately didn't want to be caught by any of the retreating soldiers as she headed further and further away from her post.
She glanced back every now and again as she moved forward. The small creature that she had encountered when hiding from the monstrous creature seemed to have taken a liking to her, as it followed her wherever she seemed to go.
