“I won’t go back to that apartment with you, Evan.” Chloe said calmly.
“What?” Evan stopped stroking her hair and looked confused.
They were still lying on the bed in her room, where they had just made love. Chloe broke the hug and stood up, picking up her dress on the floor.
“Chloe!” he called her louder than necessary. “I thought we had agreed to try again ... together.”
He got up quickly and stopped behind her, placing his hands on her shoulders. Chloe sighed heavily and closed her eyes for a brief moment. When she opened them, she said in a cold voice.
“I don’t trust you anymore.”
“How come? What do I need to do to make you believe me?”
“Show me how deep your love is. Respect my space for now.”
He said nothing, just collected his clothes and got dressed. Chloe remained in the same position, and did not understand all that silence. When she turned to look at him, Evan was already dressed like a cold, unreachable CEO.
However, this time there was fire in his eyes.
