Chapter 17: The Change

Chapter 17 :

Andrew came to a stop at the entrance of the kitchen, his mouth formed an 'O' raised his hands to scratch the back of his head. The maid that was with him stopped behind him, not paying him any attention, she had heard what he said; and to be frank she was very hurt.

He had classified the people who were working in this estate as useless, she still could not wrap her head around the thought of them being useless, they were the ones who try to make their lives as comfortable as it can be.

They are the ones who cooked for them, they cleaned the house making sure that it was perfect for their visitors, and they are the ones that did their laundry and it pained her a lot when she heard one of her bosses refer to maids as useless, and to think she thought he was cute.

" I think I now know why my cousin called me here," Andrew said to the maid in an amused tone, he waited for her timid response but as in shock when three minutes had passed and turned around just in time to her rolling her eyes while mimicking him. He was very confused about why her behavior and attitude did a 360. He watched as she walked past him brushing his shoulders ever so slightly without looking or saying a thing to him. 'Who the hell does she think she is?' he asked himself, 'Probably someone who's not intimidated by you' said his subconscious, Andrew rolled his eyes and opened his mouth ready to scold the little maid and raised his leg to follow her; he instead release an extremely loud "AHH!" sound, and he was sitting on the floor in the mixture that he had poured all over the ground.

Andrew looked up when he heard someone giggling, and he quickly jumped to his feet when he saw that everyone was watching him, when he said everyone he saw the twins pointing at him while giggling, Butler Norts stand tall with his hands fooled at behind back, the head maid looking around her nervously while wringing her hand and finally, he saw his cousin, Victoria.

Victoria stood there with her arms crossed in front glaring at everyone, her hand was twitching very hard every time she looked around the kitchen. Her heart winced at every time her little Emma sniffled 'No' she thought to herself, 'I can't keep letting her get away with everything, or she'll become spoil and weak' she reasoned with herself.

Clearing her throat, Victoria addressed the elephant in the room; "First thing is first....who which one of you did this?."

The stranger sighed when he threw her down to the floor for the fifth time today," How many times do I have to say it, try to bring me to the floor by wrapping your legs around mind...child use your lower body strength with precision, control your body don't let it control you" advised the stranger as he took two bottles of water, handing one to the girl and drinking the other.

The stranger sighed before calling out to the young girl, "Come on, it seems like I have to tell you some of the requirements you need to earn the right to be called an assassin." he said as the young girl sat on the floor while crossing her legs.

The stranger turned towards the young girl and said "The first requirement of being called an assassin is that you need to have complete control over how your body operates and moves at all times. This means you must be at an optimal weight; carrying too much weight and bulk can slow you down when trying to scale buildings and leap between rooftops." the girl quickly asked said before he could continue," I don't really get what you're trying to say."

The stranger sighed and ran his hand through his hair before leaning forward, placing his elbows on his legs he said, "Think like a rock climber, powerful strength and lightning-quick reflexes are your best friend – half an inch or a few extra seconds can be the difference between a successful climb and fall, a successful mission or failed attempt, even life, and death."

The girl let out a gasp and asked in a somewhat fearful tone," So what if you like to injure your leg or something during a mission?."

The stranger gave her a look as if to ask 'Are you serious?' and said "Our assassins wouldn't be that stupid to get injured on a mission" he and answered and paused for a brief moment before continuing with a shrug," Well I guess use their upper body strength or bear through the pain of the injury and complete the damn mission."

The young girl looked at him in a mixture of admiration and horror and the stranger gave her a small smile before continuing, "The second requirement of being called an assassin is that, once you've built your body for optimum performance, it's time to start mastering your environment." The stranger gave the girl a stern stare as she gifted him with a guilty smile.

"After all, what's a strong body good for if you don't how to use it effectively. To become a great assassin, you need to start analyzing each environment you inhabit quickly so that you can move through with maximum efficiency." He continued with a slight shrug, he saw that the girl's mouth was opened as if she wanted to ask him another question and quickly said the next requirement, not because he was being disrespectful but because he hand to meet Boss soon and soon was like two minutes away.

"The third requirement of being called an assassin is that you move softly and shorten the distance between you and your target, the fourth is that you must be quick about it." The stranger paused for a minute before continuing.

"Assassins are like stealth bombers, they make their move before anybody notices anything has happened. A slow assassin wouldn't survive very long." concluded the stranger, as he grabbed his jacket and walked towards the door. Before he could leave the room, the girl asked, "Why wouldn't they survive very long?."

The stranger released a laugh before shrugging, "If he's still standing there when the body hits the floor, and he has a giant bloody knife in his hands…he's pretty much screwed."

"See ya later kiddo," said the stranger as he walked to the hall.
