I swallowed a hard breath, a long, sharp, painful breath that felt like it bruised my insides, my body entire body ached, spasms of intense pain ripping through every part of my body. "She said she will see me soon. She didn't. Actually, she did, after ten years. Does it consider as a short time or soon? No, right?"
"I'm late. I really need to run now. My father will get angry. Bye. See you soon."
"What's your name?"
"You can call me crown flower."
"Yah. My name is Dylan...."
I saw the sudden pain crossed her eyes and I don't know why. She quickly averted her gaze to the front, avoiding my eyes. "Is it your important person? Actually, who was she? Your first love?" She uttered in a slow, soft manner.
And her question pushed me in deep thought. Was it love? We call it 'love at first sight'. Do I believe in that? I shook the thoughts off out of my head. "Was she? I don't know about love." I shrugged.
"Now you know about me. You know I stink for my past. That day you weren't aware of anything about me and that's why I felt beautiful to you. You were standing far away from me. And everything looks beautiful from far away."
And it felt like hundreds of bricks has crashed on my head, a sharp knife stabbing my heart.
"Everything looks beautiful from far away."
"Don't go near that plant, if you don't want to get scared by that flower."
"That is a crown imperial blossom plant. One of the most bad-smelling flowers. They stink. They have a strong, musky scent, a bit like a skunk. That's why I'm keeping that out of my garden bed."
I moved my head from her neck and held the reins. Tightening them onto it, I pulled the rein back. And receiving the resistance, the horse stopped moving forward.
Tiara's face went puzzled as I climbed off from the horse. "And it was her another lie." I gave her a soft smile.
"What?" She looked at me while taking her other feet on the same side to climb down, still puzzled.
"That everything is beautiful from far away. It's a lie." With that, I grabbed her hands and pulled her using my strength. She started to fall but I was fast enough to put my hands on either side of her waist while she was still on the horse. She widened her eyes in awe but didn't utter a single word. Her face was so close to mine now. Her warm breath was taking my breath away.
"She is so beautiful from far away and.... breathtaking when she is close to me. And she didn't keep the crown Imperial plant out of her garden bed because it stinks. She did because she knew everyone doesn't want to seek real beauty, everyone doesn't have the patience to look deeper, everyone is not qualified to know about my crown flower."
