Chapter 12: 64

A series of loud knocks on the door reverberated throughout the house and into Theo's bedroom. He slowly opened his heavy eyelids to that unfamiliar sound. When was the last time someone had knocked on his door? Theo wondered in drowsiness.

That wasn't the only odd thing Theo had experienced recently. After the shocking revelation Gabriel made, Theo went back home to find absolutely no one there. He thought that Leah and Robert must have had been working overtime at Jones' Tavern again.

As for Chase and Bella, they were probably waiting at the gate, so it wouldn't be long until they realized Theo went through a secret exit and came back home, but it was already the next morning, and no one was back. Theo was the only one in his house for the whole night. It was a little disappointing as he had expected someone to celebrate his victory with.

Oh well, he thought. Today was the award ceremony, Theo would have the entire nation celebrate for him. If nothing went wrong, that was.
