I got dressed and waited for Davien downstairs, he had sent a text earlier that he would be running a little late but was on his way regardless. Waiting beside me, was Rachel, my best friend and only confidant.

"Daphne, level with me. Are you sure that this is a good idea?" She asked all of a sudden when there were fewer people around.

She had been skeptical of me becoming the Luna of Night Howlers, and now that it had happened, I thought she would lay those doubts to rest.

"Is this about Davien again?"

She sighed and reclined against the bar counter, "Can you blame me? The guy's a playboy, do you honestly think you can tame that sort of man?"

I knitted my brows, "He was, but he isn't like that anymore. And besides, we're both doing this for the benefit of both our packs. Isn't it better to be aligned with him than with Alpha Renold?"
