I called Daphne out, half expecting her not to show up, not after I had her pack kicked out without giving it a second thought. But, the woman never ceased to amaze me, she met up with me by the parking lot of the clinic Kian was at last, just two minutes late.

"Davien, I didn't expect you to call so suddenly," Her scent was covered by layers and layers of perfume, almost as if she was trying to hide something.

"I take it that you've changed your mind and reconsidered." She went on to say, "But I'll have you know that I have my own conditions for—"

"Where is Kian?" I hastily asked, my mate was in danger and there was no time for me to waste chatting away with her.

Daphne blinked twice, then flattened her features, "Kian? I don't know and I don't care. If you're looking for your precious little mate, try looking around a brothel." She chuckled, humouring herself.
