I wanted to ask Gwendolyn what she meant by that statement, but she suddenly got an important call and went outside to answer it. As she stepped outside to talk, the waiter returned with the food and set it on the table.

While setting the plates, my phone vibrated on the table, "It could be Davien." I thought and hurriedly picked it up and brought the phone to my ear without looking at the contact info first.

"Yes?"

"Thank God you answered, I was worried sick about you. I went to the hotel to look for you, but I couldn't find you there." Carol's panicky voice said.

My heart sunk. It wasn't Davien.

"I'm out for coffee with someone."

"Well, it's good you answered, there's been a slight change in plans. My team called and there was a break in, some of our research was stolen, but the most important parts weren't found." Carol announced, leading to somewhere I didn't want this conversation to go.
