Why was I born?

Right from when I was a child, I was the textbook example of a square peg in a round hole. There had always been great expectation mapped out for me, but I turned out to be nothing but a disappointment.

"It's a girl! I have no need for a laughingstock Alpha. Don't ever show that to me again." Father said at the dinner table to mother. It was my time being invited to eat with my father, and it was also my first time seeing him, so I was excited to see him and play with him.

"But, she's still an Alpha, she's worthy of taking over Silverfang." Mother pleaded nearly on the verge of tears from the disappointed look on father's face.

"A woman whose going to find a mate and leave is useless to me. If you can't give me the strong Alpha I need to carry out my legacy, you are trash, and useless." He announced and then stood up from the table.
