Oliver didn't say a word after that, I could tell he was truly remorseful over suggesting we join hands with the mafia, but at the same time he wasn't fully against the idea either.

Before leaving the office, I placed a call to Kian to check-up on his wellbeing so far. I was partially interested in knowing how well he was faring with having Kat and Alice at his beck and call.

"Why are you calling me?" Kian's flat voice asked, "I'm doing good too, thanks for asking." I retorted stepping towards my car at the parking lot. Although I couldn't see him, I had the feeling Kian rolled his eyes at me.

"Get to the point Davien, have you spoken to Valerie or not?" Kian implored.

"About to go see her now."

"Then why are you talking to me?" He sharply inserted, I closed my eyes as I inhaled deeply, swallowing the slight anger I was feeling over his edginess.
