The universe is, by its very nature. vast, unpredictable, bountiful, and yet random to the point of being unfair. Simply being born in the wrong place at the wrong time can damn you for life.. and yet with that risk comes with it the possibility of reward. Those who persevere in the face of such adversity can rise above their given lot in life. For while life is truly unfair it is also without limit to potential. For those that disagree I would remind you that most limits are in the mind and can be overcome given enough effort. For the rest of life's limitations, we have the technology.

Azamir Ternum was stuck early in life at a young age, his father recently contracted the Vrax plague while on leave of his deployment and mother taking over the family support in his father's declining health. Left with few options to make a living after his father's pension suddenly drying up he is forced to make a decision that will unknowingly put him at the center of planetary strife.
