The party had been working for a couple of months, days of moving parts and sheets of metal and welding them into place, days of installing machinery and wires, of building and programming computers. While Raven and Scorpion would move and wield the ship together, and Wolf would make the parts and components that would control and power it Geko would go hunting and scavenging each day, bringing back berry's, vegetables and meat for them to survive off of so they wouldn't have to go into the packed rations in the building. Whatever they didn't eat she would turn into jerky or dry the berries.
The ship went from looking like a skeleton to being a fully built frigate, the cockpit was built atop a pointed nose, and the ship's body stretched into two large engines on the side, both of which were able to rotate the bottom part so they could change the direction of the thrust, the top of the engines had a almost triangular shape where the vents where built. Further down the ship there was a slight indent on both sides, this is where the large doors into the storage bay were located, each one had a moving piece of metal that covered them when they were not in use and that would pull back into the ship when the airlocked doors were set to open.
Past the storage doors there were another two rotating engines, Just past that the back of the ship split into four set engines that worked as the ships main propulsion while the other four engines would control the direction. Along the pointed nose at the front of the ship raven had engraved two large dragons which opened their mouths, from their mouths Geko had painted a stream of fire, leaving a fire pattern on the front of the ship. On Top of the ship there were three cannons that could twist direction, each one was able to be controlled automatically or manually.
Under the ship were a set of large landing legs which kept the ship in position while it was landed, and stopped the much larger cannon on the bottom of the ship from taking damage. The bottom gun also could rotate but took longer than the ones above, yet its payload was horribly powerful. The few test shots they had shot had blown away part of a distant mountain, however it had also made the cannon overheat and stop working for twenty minutes.
Once it was finally finished the group stood back and admired their work, Scorpion wiped away a bead of sweat from her brow, as she had just finished loading the cargo bay with her usual assistant, while Wolf had been programming the ships controls and ensuring the systems were working. While the three were taking a break and admiring the ship Geko appeared beside them, it took a second before the group noticed something weird.
"What is that?" Wolf asked, he pointed at a creature on her shoulder. Stood on her shoulder was a small blob like green creature with large beady eyes. It had two legs that seemed too small to hold up its body, and a set of razor sharp teeth that it revealed as it opened its mouth with a large yawn.
"I call him snappy" she said with a large grin while stroking it under its chin, Wolf winced thinking it was going to bite into her finger, yet instead it made what could only be described as a purring sound.
"Are you bringing that thing with us?" Raven asked with what seemed to be almost horror.
"Of course!" she said with a beaming smile, as she looked at the group with large eyes that resulted in none of them being able to say no to the look she was giving them.
Raven sighed as he conceded and then turned back to the ship, he went to grab his discarded top and threw Scorpions to her. For some reason over the last few days the location they were in had gotten increasingly hot, so much so that it almost started to feel like a desert. As the heat carried on rising Wolf nodded to the ship, he brought up his arms holographic display and typed in a command. From under the ship a large landing lift lowered itself from the ship's cargo area, and they all walked onto it, waiting for a few seconds while he typed in another command. The lift then rose leading them into the ship.
The Cargo room was large, with a second level where there was a crane that could move the boxes and anything else large in the cargo bay, attached to the room on one end was a large forge Raven had requested and opposite it was Wolfs workshop. The group split off to ensure everything was in order, while Wolf and Geko walked towards the front of the ship, passing through the airlock doors towards the cockpit, as they walked towards it they passed a large room with chairs, a holo display and a few items for entertainment, opposite that room was the kitchen where they had taken most things out of the building to fill. They moved deeper into the ship, passing one more room on the way, the training room that Scorpion had requested.
Wolf opened the door to the cockpit and walked in, followed by Geko behind him. He sat in one of the overly comfy looking chairs at the front, he took the little chip holding Prometheus and installed it in a slot he had built in for the developing AI. While he waited for the AI to get used to the systems he powered up the ship's solar core. Within a few minutes the ship was ready and with a flip of a switch the downward pointing engines turned on. There was a slight rumble through the floor as the ground started to disappear below them, the landing gear rose into the ship and holodisplays started to show up around the two. The shaking of the ship grew in intensity as they started to ascend through the atmosphere, and broke through into the ocean of darkness.
This's an experimental test for reading assistance in case.
