Chapter 49: Always kill the messenger

Raven's eyes snapped open; her sleep disturbed by an odd scraping at the door. Carefully extricating herself from Angelica's embrace, Raven slipped on a robe over her naked form. The angel slumbered on undisturbed, the sheets sliding to reveal her bare shoulders.

Padding silently to the door, Raven discovered a piece of folded parchment that had been slipped under it. Unfolding it quickly, Raven read the mysterious note by moonlight:

"I have information about Amara and the Light that you might want to know. Meet me in the padded room between sides or come tournament time, you'll regret staying in the dark…"
