"Lady Kyera, today's events has given me a lot to consider. I believe, perhaps it would be best not to continue entertaining the union of you and My Son, Fourth Prince Clovis." The Emperor spoke with a conviction that she didn't quite understand. "My Queens and I are concerned that it will lead to further attacks on our Palace and our royal family. As the Emperor I release you from the marriage that was assigned to you."
"I refuse to allow this. As Empress I challenge your decision. How dare you make this choice for our son without speaking with me first." Empress Evelyn spoke with the fire and anger she felt. This was the betrayal she had been expecting. Of course he had been loving and caring since she was injured.
"Evie, it is because it is our son that The Queens and I made this decision." The Emperor replied, seeming as though he expected this. Eve frowned.
"What do you mean?" She asked knowing exactly where this was going. There was a small part of her that hoped she was wrong.
"Clovis is no longer eligible for the position of Emperor without a wife. It means you have a ulterior motive to wanting them together." Queen Fae offered with a smug grin. Empress Evelyn turned to her and laughed.
"You act as though you do not have ulterior motives for him not to stay married to Kyera. There is nothing to prove this attack was the result of Kyera." The Empress replied anger in her eyes. Kyera saw the stress and how white she was turning. It was too much frustration for her weakened system.
"Mother, please, let me speak." Kyera purred softly, putting in the effort to calm her. The Empress heard Kyera addressing her as mother. It was proof Kyera had not relinquished her position or given up.
"There is nothing for you to say. Your marriage is no longer standing. Please leave." Queen Fae replied with a evil smirk. Kyera smiled softly and reached into her dress. She pulled out the crest of the Shadow Veil Royal family.
"Then I will speak on the behalf of my Shadow Veil Family. As the adopted daughter of Shaman Half Eye and God Daughter of Emperor Mordakai and as such God sister of Prince Mordrin I wish to say I am sincerely sorry the Emperor and his Queens see this as their best course of action. I however, will not be accepting the Shame they wish to thrust upon me. I will remain married to Prince Clovis, however Since you believe me being here will cause the royal family problems, I will return with My Emperor God Father and God Brother to the Shadow Veil lands." Kyera replied bowing to them both. Clovis stared at her. She didn't want to go it was clear in her eyes. However his family was pushing her that way.
"That is not for you to decide." Queen Fae growled at her and Kyeara frowned.
"My Lady Queen, I am doing this for the best of the country. Do you wish to tell Mordakai that your Prince took my heart and hand but then turned me away?" Kyera asked raising her eyes to Queen Fae who remembered those cold eyes of Mordakai. They had never been kind to her, and his anger was kind to no one.
"He will understand that we can not chance such violence among our people. We must take care of our kin." Queen Kira tried to reason but Kyera chuckled turning on her.
"Queen Kira, Please keep in mind a few rogue warriors attacked not only your people but my own. My Knights of the Forest were the first to draw blades and your own failed to notice the intrusion." Kyera pointed out, honestly trying to help them. No one knew what to say for a moment, afterall Kyera was right. Many of them owed their lives to her knights.
