People pray to the gods. They sacrifice goats and gold on their altars. They sing and chant and cry and hope. The gods never respond.

The eight year drought continues.

Summer looms, hot, dry, and threatening heatstroke and death. Shai tries to find work, but female caravan guards are unwelcome in a male-dominated trade. She's about to give up hope when she stumbles into a boy who claims to be the son of a god. He's probably a total nutcase. But on the off chance that he isn't, he could be the key to returning rain to the desiccated lands.

This series definitely contains scenes of violence, screaming obscenities, and acts of shamelessness which you should not try at home. Viewer discretion is advised.
