Chapter 310: Freedom, again

An odd silence befell those that were sitting at the table, and it was not because they lacked a proper scathing response to the ugly remarks made by Emory Wu, but because they respected Esong and the empress was here. 

If this was not the case, Mega would have dragged Emory by the hair already and punched her small sharp nose until it flattened like a piece of flat bread. 

She was so angry that she rushed to clench Dorian's hand and squeezed so hard, almost breaking the bones. Scarlet was doing the same to Esong's hand, under the table. 

"You are rude, Emory." the empress said, coldly but gently. 

She stunned everyone, and all of their eyes and attention moved to her. But their eyes still moved back and forth, between the empress and Emory. It was a given that Emory would not dare talk back to the empress. So what would she do?

"Your highness," Emory said, looking incredibly dismayed.
