Chapter 53: The conflict

Iris was having a hard time trying to suppress her displeasure. With Cassian's weird antics, her anger kept on rising but she had no way of showing it. The one before her had a status higher than her and as a noble, she was remaining mindful of that fact. First, he threatened her by using her father's name and now he was bashfully staring at her as though he was going to devour her.

And her thoughts were not far from what Cassian was thinking. A soft smile was hanging on his lips as he gazed at his mate but the predatory glint inside his eyes said otherwise. Even Iris could feel that but being a human, she could only conclude that he was trying to annoy her. However, that was a lot different from what Cassian thought, he didn't want to annoy his mate but wanted to devour her. To take her right on this table as his and finally mark her to tie her with him for a lifetime.
