The first thing that I noticed was the annoying buzz sound in my ears. My head throbbed painfully and I struggled to open my eyes.
"Should we wake her up?" I heard someone whisper. It didn't take me long to know that it was Blake.
"Do you think she'd agree?" Blain asked in a whisper too. "Let's just do it before she wakes up." He stated.
I was utterly confused about what those two were up to but was more confused about where exactly I was. The last thing I remember was me directing all my anger towards Maxwell.
I felt someone come closer and upon reflex, I grabbed that I felt was close to my face.
A startled gasp was heard coming from Blain.
"What are you doing Blain?" I asked, my eyes still closed.
"What? You didn't even open your eyes, how did you know it was me and not Blake?" He asked in surprise.
I opened my eyes and slowly ushered myself to sit up straight.
"I have my ways." I shrugged. "Where am I anyway?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes.
"Packhouse." They both replied and I only answered with an 'oh'.
"And..umm..where's.." I started but was cut off.
"Logan?" Blake asked, finishing what I wanted to say.
I nodded silently.
"Right here." A familiar voice said.
I looked up to find Logan standing at the doorway, arms crossed and a wide grin playing on his face.
"We'll let you guys be," Blain stated as he pulled his twin out the door.
Logan waited for them to leave before closing the door and walking towards me, not breaking eye contact.
"How are you feeling?" He asked softly as he picked me up from the sides and placed me on his lap.
"I'm fine. What about you?" I asked as I placed my head on his chest, his soft heartbeats warming at my own heart.
Logan's grip on me tightened as he pulled me closer and took a deep breath. "God, I miss you so much." He murmured.
I pulled back and cupped his cheeks. "I'm sorry. For everything." I apologized sincerely.
"You don't have to apologize for anything. I don't even know why you are apologizing." Logan replied.
"I-" I was cut off by someone slamming our bedroom door open.
"Eva!!" Chloe yelled as she ran towards us. She pulled me from Logan's hold and into her tight hug.
"I missed you so much. I thought I wouldn't see you again." She wailed loudly.
"I missed you too Chloe," I told her with a chuckle.
"Don't you ever do this to us again. You can't just die out on us." She ordered as she wiped her tears away.
"It's good having you back Eva," Jake said as he pulled Chloe back.
Next came Claire. Her grip on me was even tighter than Chloe's but her tears, however, were silent.
We stayed in each other's arms as she sobbed into my hair.
"It's missed you so much, Eva." She whispered between sobs.
"It's missed you guys too," I replied as I stroked her hair reassuringly. Sam then came and pulled his wife away.
Alexis too came along and hugged me tightly then followed the twins, much to Logan's dismay, even though I just saw them earlier.
"Okay, you guys made sure that she was fine, you can all leave now," Logan grumbled as he shooed them out.
"Fine fine." The twins waved off as they left along with the rest.
A small giggle left me at Logan's childish ways.
"Oh right, I've been meaning to ask you. What happened to Maxwell and his pack?" I asked as he sat next to me and pulled me close to him.
"They were roasted," Logan replied with a shrug.
I raised my head to look at him when he sighed.
"Not all of them though, his beta escaped but was seriously injured, and Drake escaped too." He continued.
Fear struck into my heart at what he just said. Drake was still alive.
Logan must've noticed my worried expression because he pulled me even closer to him and started stroking my hair gently.
"Don't worry baby, I'm assigning my best men after them." He reassured me. "But until then, you are not leaving my sight." He said as he leaned closer so I was on my back on the pillow with him hovering over me, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"I guess I'll have no other choice but to keep up with it until it's over," I said teasingly.
"Don't worry, you'll find that spending time with me rather enjoyable." He replied as he leaned his face closer.
"Can I get a guarantee for that?"
"You sure as hell will." He answered before crashing his soft lips to mine.
I missed them so much. His touch, his warmth, his sheer presence.
Our lips moved in familiar sync and without hesitation, I let him lead on and take full control. He was the alpha, who was I to not obey?
A couple of months ago I was so close to losing all hopes in life. My days were unbearable and I hated almost everyone and everything. But now, I don't think that a single lifetime will be enough for me to live, right here, with the people I love, with Logan.
I owe my life to them and would forever be grateful that they accepted me among them and loved me without expecting anything in return.
"I love you my beautiful Gumiho." Logan murmured against my lips when we pulled out for air.
"I love you too my alpha," I replied with a wide grin before crashing my lips once again with his.
I couldn't be happier.
